Wait times are unbelievable...multiple customers taking one look at the queue today and opting to drive to an alternative town to use the post office. Come on guys please sort this out, it's insulting to your customers to think they should wait an hour in a queue to post a parcel.

ignore all the negative reviews, i visited this post office and had a lovely experience. the staff work hard to do their best to help you, and they’re efficient as ever. super kind and friendly, i would recommend to anybody! super satisfied with the service and will definitely be coming back. 🙂

Adding to the many people who are dissatisfied with the long wait times. This has been an issue for years now, you have to account for a 30 minute wait every visit, while one member of staff serves a 15 person queue at peak times. Never seen more than one person working. The staff are perfectly fine in terms of service, but wait times are inappropriate.

As others say, this is unacceptable for a main post office in Altrincham. Sort yourselves out, post office.

Understaffed and blissfully unaware of customer peaks. 5 counters and never fully staffed. People of a certain generation seem to use it as a social meeting place, further exasperating an already unpleasant queuing experience. Needs a complete overhaul in the process from start to finish. Queuing right now here and one person has comendeered a counter for the last 5 mins, probably to send a single letter. Contrary to other reviews however, the staff are pleasant and just completely hobbled by an archaic and inflexible business model.

The queue is always really long & you end up waiting absolutely ages! I posted a very important document over a week ago via recorded delivery (it needed to be at its destination urgently) And The post office have lost it. I went back into the branch (I had to wait in the queue for half an hour again) and they said they couldn't give me any information or help me. I won't be posting anything via Royal Mail ever again. Absolutely shocking service!

Worst post office I’ve been in my entire life. It’s always dirty with rubbish and old dust on the floor, very messy that looks like nobody ever tidy the place. Only two people serving customers that clearly hate their job. I tried to make an amazon return and the lady tried to say that they probably would not take the item as too big. Then proceeded to look for a something to measure the parcel for 10 minutes. Ridiculous excuse and when she eventually found it in all that mess, she measured the parcel and obviously measures were fine. Then tried to scan my QR code with the post office scanner when I clearly told her it was an amazon return, (they have a special phone for it to scan). Another excuse not to take my parcel “the code doesn’t scan”. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. She waisted 20 minutes of my life. Another post office took my parcel without any issue. HQ should do something about it!!!!

The staff here are absolutely lovely and really polite and friendly, but the queue times are just ridiculously long. Every time I have come here over the past few weeks I have had to queue for at least 15 minutes. It’s even worse after 4pm. The place is understaffed and it’s frequently up to one staff member to serve customers as 15+ people wait in the queue. Go to another post office if you have the option to.

My first visit today. Shocked that there was about fifteen people queuing up. Only one person serving! Then another till opened up. The man behind was cursing due to the long time waiting and his two young children were protesting and screaming with frustration. Eventually they damaged something meaning the man left quickly without being served. I waited twenty minutes only to be told wrong information which was corrected. I got served properly eventually but definitely they need more tills opening it's totally unacceptable to have people waiting around for so long.
