I recently had the pleasure of staying at Y Talbot in Tregaron, booked by my company for work, and what an absolute treat it was! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and polite, making me feel right at home.

The ambiance of the hotel is something special. I eat my evening meal by a real log fire, next to a cozy window seat—exactly the kind of warmth and charm you hope for in a traditional Welsh inn. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The shower was a standout—piping hot with excellent water pressure, a rare luxury in many hotels.

For my evening meal, I went with a burger, and it did not disappoint—delicious, well-cooked, and full of flavor. Unfortunately, I had to leave before breakfast, but if it was anything like the quality of my dinner, I have no doubt it would have been a fantastic start to the day. The hotel even provided a takeaway lunch for my early departure, which was a thoughtful touch.

Overall, Y Talbot exceeded my expectations in every way. It’s the kind of place you don’t just stay at—you experience it. If I get the chance, I will 1000% be coming back. Highly recommended!

Went for a lovely meal on Saturday while visiting the area with friends.|From the outside I never expected the quality of meal we received.|Service was very good! With young servers who had personality and jest to go with the great service.|I had the crab for starters, the cucumber that dressed it was lovely and flavoured.|The steak was nice.||If I was going to give any feedback ( which I said while there )|The outside doesn't fit the meal, which is a undersell of the meal.|The dining room was too brightly lit, and quite soulless :(|Table cloths on tables would be nice.|I think this needs to be looked at more closely .||Def would visit again

Nice, dog friendly pub close to some nice walks and great scenery. The food was great and reasonably priced. Tilly and Hazel our vizslas appreciated the iced water they were given on the hot day on which we visited.

My husband & I have just stayed at the Y Talbot Hotel & it really deserves five star rating across the board. Our bedroom was exceptionally clean & comfortable with a huge bed overlooking the square. The big bathroom was spotless with a huge shower & looked as though it had been refitted recently
We didn’t eat dinner there as we visited family but the breakfast the next morning joined by our family was excellent with plenty of choice. Well cooked quality ingredients
The staff from Front Desk to our waiter were very friendly & helpful, top marks to you all we will definitely be back when visiting family

Very decent size ground floor accessible room with comfortable superking high bed, spacious well-equipped wet-room with sufficient toiletry storage surfaces.|Lovely owners and staff.|Food excellent - best scrambled eggs.|Definitely one to return to.

Family meals over weekend days, in February. Great food and service. All staff were excellent. The chef went out of his way to provide Vegan food each night and it was delicious. Highly recommend.

Just had a meal at the Talbot, Tregaron.
Lovely staff, service excellent, food was delicious. Beer ✔️. My only thought is that they should sell the wine in the bar, by the bottle, less than there restaurant price.
Very enjoyable, and they read you required extras! Thank you, Steve was pleasantly surprised.

Fantastic hotel and restaurant. We went for the weekend and it was most enjoyable. The front of house team lead by Tracey were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bedroom was comfortable with excellent pillows! and a very large ensuite. We had a meal in the restaurant where there was good choice and well portioned. Great atmosphere with friendly attentive service.
