Wise Origin - Leicester

My son attended wise Origin for a year from 2019 - 2020. Honestly it was the worst thing he’s been through , they don’t help you with anything at all, my son was told by previous workers of wise origin that they hated there jobs.

My son had to travel for 8months to his work place by bus , just to find out he wasn’t even enrolled on the course , he was then passed around from person to person to try to solve the issue.

There are better apprenticeship institutions out there just do your research and find a better place 🙂

I highly recommend Wise Origin for anyone considering an apprenticeship. The faculty are exceptionally knowledgeable and supportive, providing hands-on experience that truly prepares you for a career in education. I did the housing traineeship in April till July, I found out about the course via a job fair, the course was advertised in Hinckley with a guaranteed apprenticeship upon completion and this made me apply and attended the induction at Hinckley.

The person I met at the the job fair was quite rushy to get me signed up which now makes me think the traineeship isn’t popular at this college which is why they withhold information or misinform you until your signed on the course.

Once I’d applied I then found out that I needed to travel further to Leicester town centre as Hinckley facilities weren’t being used for some reason, I was paid for my fuel but as getting claim forms paid was a pain and I had to push really hard to have them paid.

My work experience was what I wanted but wasn’t in an area I wanted as the person organising the placements doesn’t listen when you say your preferred area as she only knows Leicester town centre, which is why I didn’t take an placement/apprenticeship at my placement location.

The course itself was good/educational, had the occasional days when we had pointless activities as the main tutors weren’t in but could have been done in quicker time as I feel that I wasted 10 weeks on this course which could have been better spent doing something actually worth my time.

7 weeks on and have not got my course certificate or an offer of an apprenticeship. I’ve asked to be put on a list to find out when apprenticeships become available but have low chances of one being outside of Leicester town centre.

Overall I would not recommend a traineeship with this college as all the promises made we’re broken and I felt like I gained nothing from my experience.

Very good college/training provider and has been operating for quite a while. Variety of qualifications/apprenticeships offered. Staff are very nice, polite and helpful.

Great training providers only down side is they Never offered me a cup of chai.
I was shocked
I seen all the staff with mugs in there hands when I asked for a cup off chai a young man said sorry no chai around here fam go do one.
I said to brother I'm thirsty please give me a cup off tea, sipping the cup of tea he replied that's none of my business
As I was walking out the staff starting throwing tea bags at me and screaming BANTER!.
