We went to do the sake and cheese pairing course and we loved it. Even if pairing sake and cheese seems weird, when you try it you realise how good they go together!
Sarah explained us a lot of things and curiosities about sake and the cheeses we tried. She was really nice and she was ready to answer any of the questions we had. It was also great that she had good recommendations of where to find good bottles and cheeses in the UK, but she also gave us some tips for when we go to Japan.
I really recommend it and I hope to come back to take another course!

Over the past year I have completed my WSET Level 2, Level 3 and am currently completing the French Wine Scholar Guild - as well as a number of individual tasting classes among all the study! (I’m slightly obsessed!) I’ve done both in-person and online sessions - all of them great. Jimmy’s classes in particular are a favourite as he is just so incredibly passionate, experienced, and engaging - but I’ve had a number of tutors who have all been knowledgable and friendly.

Jimmy’s online portal with supporting material for WSET has been invaluable. I have also found the wines for the French WSG in particular really thoughtfully chosen to give you real understanding of certain styles and areas which has been so helpful.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Introduction to sake tasting class. I was studying the WSET level 1 in sake at the time online and this was such a help with understanding the different types of sake. Sarah is incredibly knowledgable and passionate about sake and as a result I have been inspired to become a member of the BSA and book more courses to expand my own knowledge. Highly recommended.

SPANSIH WINE SCHOLAR
Just completed this superb course. Very impressed with the Wine Scholar Guild country specific course and online content to back up the class experience. I was waiting and looking forward to the launch of the new Spanish wine program. I was also new to the West London Wine School and needed to travel from Cambridge, but it was worth it. The course was presented by Jimmy and he was outstanding in delivering with passion and enthusiasm the course content, the wonderful and extensive range of wonderful wines to taste, accompanied by different Spanish cheeses, cold meats, paella, padron peppers, etc. to match each region. I also learned a lot and was well prepared for the exam this week. I will sign up for further Wine Scholar courses, led by Jimmy at the West London Wine School, starting with France next year and then Italy. If you are interested, like or love wine you will enjoy one of Jimmy's courses. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend.

Super impressed with the Sake class on the Gohyakumangoku “queen of sake” varietal. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable and there were so many fascinating insights during the tasting about the sake brewers of each region. Enjoyed the different sakes chosen for the tasting and they paired well with the cheese board too. Would highly recommend joining this sake class if you’re looking to learn more about sake.

Exceptional Experience at West London Wine School with Fran!

I recently completed the "World of Wine" series at West London Wine School, and I have to say it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The star of the show was undoubtedly our instructor, Fran, who made each session incredibly enjoyable and informative.

Fran's passion for wine is evident from the moment you meet her. She brings an infectious enthusiasm to each class, making the complex world of wine accessible and engaging for everyone, regardless of their prior knowledge. Her deep understanding of the subject, combined with her ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely, made learning a true pleasure.

What sets Fran apart is her wonderful personality. She creates a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging participation and fostering a sense of community among the attendees. (She even made sure there were vegan food items for me so I wouldn't feel left out during each session. Including vegan cheese!) Her anecdotes and stories added a delightful personal touch, making each session memorable and fun.

Moreover, Fran's organizational skills are top-notch. Each class was well-structured, with her always providing insightful tasting notes and pairing suggestions.

If you're considering taking a wine course, I highly recommend the "World of Wine" series at West London Wine School, and make sure to request Fran as your instructor. She truly is the best!

Thank you, Fran, for an amazing journey through the world of wine. I can't wait to join another class with you soon!

Cheers! 🍷
