I was a student at walsall college. I was enrolled for a bit but then reached out about how I wanted to switch courses. After getting dropped from my course, I contacted multiple people through emails, tried to call the college and got no response or help from any staff. This is the only college close to me so.

Dont you even think about going to this college if you’ve got learning difficulties. Tutors can make you feel stupid if you work at a slower pace or require additional help due to your disabilities if you ask for help you get made to feel like an inconvenience. I’ve wasted nearly a year at this college doing the level 2 electrical installation and to fail the whole course due to the fact the practical exam which was 10 hours long, you don’t get to any chance prepare for as I didn’t had much support preparing for it such as I barley been taught how to test etc and my tutor told me “just watch YouTube video or read the on site guide to prepare for my exam” he also said to me rudely that “I can’t test” which I feel like that was remark against disability due to the fact I take longer to absorb information . The marking criteria that C&G implemented is pathetic any mistakes you make you automatically fail which means you’ve failed the whole course that you’ve work hard on and you dont have a chance to rectify it . This has affected my mental health as I’m trying to get my life back on track but I always get set to fail. Avoid this college at all costs all they want is your money snd if you fail you’re got to do whole year again so they can stuff it

Walsall College is a great place to learn. It's an environment where you are supported and guided to the best form of success. The tutors are very knowledgeable and there is a great balance where you can bounce ideas off a mixture of talents. I can only speak for the Media department as this is where I learnt and did my Level 3, HNC, and HND qualifications. You have access to state-of-the-art technology in an environment that promotes your growth as a student and for your future in the creative media sector.
Walsall College has a lot to offer but you have to make the most of it.

So I did media studies, level 2, 3 and then went on to do HE (higher education) and did HNC and HND. And I can honestly say it was the best decision, coz oh my god it was such a great course, the tutors especially really made this course so great, they’re so helpful and supportive and really made the course enjoyable. I also learnt so much as well like there is so much more to films and tv shows you wouldn’t even think about. I will say however it would have been nice to have a choice to chose theory or practical when studying HE, but the even when filming the equipment they have is phenomenal and so professional. And now that I’m doing my last year at Wolverhampton uni i really miss doing the course at college. But yes 10/10 would recommend. :))))

I was a student at Walsall college and my experience with them has been absolutely awful. DO NOT go through them for an apprenticeship scheme. They ask you for documentation when you first start which disappears…even when I have had given it to them. There was a data breach of information where another student sat my exam… which postponed me from sitting my exam!! They will arrange to come, visit you at your work and not show up. Then blame you for it..I had 2 visits over my 2 years course with them. I would advise to go else where.

I studied media here for 5 years and it's been the best 5 years I've ever had academically from school to different colleges! The tutors are all so incredibly supportive and friendly, they're all super amazing and have helped me find a love and passion for videography and photography. Cannot thank the tutors enough for all the knowledge, experience and encouragement. If you're interested in studying media, I'd highly recommend Walsall college's media department!

I was a student here in the Media department for 4 years - from 2017 to 2021 - and I could not recommend it more. The media tutors are the kindest and most helpful people who always put their students first. They all go the extra mile to ensure that everybody understands exactly what needs to be done as well as creating great relationships with their students. They also have incredible facilities in this department which I have never seen in an educational environment before - helping students further their knowledge for a potential career in the Media industry. Would definitely recommend if you are interested in a Media-related career!
