Alex has been an amazing trumpet teacher for my son Rocco over the past two years. Alex was the first person to ever teach Rocco when he picked up a trumpet for the very first time. Now, my younger son is also taking lessons with Alex, and we’re thrilled with his progress too. Alex is incredibly patient with both of my children and connects with them so well that they really grasp what he’s teaching. He makes learning easy to understand, which keeps them engaged and excited about their lessons. Alex has a unique ability to keep both of my sons’ attention and walks them through each lesson in a way that is easy to understand. Thanks to Alex, Rocco is now one of the top trumpet players in his grade. He’s a great teacher and an asset to Virtu Academy. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a top-notch trumpet instructor.

I take classical piano lessons from Virtu. My professor is Dr. Michael Kaykov. I normally don't write reviews unless my experience has been stellar. Dr. Kaykov is phenomenal. His teaching style is one where he builds confidence in your abilities whether you're beginner or advanced. (I'm a beginner.) He's non-judgmental, and says positive and encouraging words (even when I screw up.) He has flexible thinking (non-rigid); thinks outside of the box when it comes to addressing my concerns of anxiousness of playing the piano and musicality/creativity of a song. Communicates well (replies to emails quickly and addresses questions that I have). He's so down-to-earth despite having been a professor of Juilliard School. He's also able to distill music theory that doesn't overwhelm and takes it to the pace of the student (my beginner's mind). I cannot say enough great things about him. I had wanted to have an in-person piano teacher, but it's very difficult to step away from a gifted teacher who teaches this well. (Why fix something when it's not baroque? [Get it?]) 😀

Zachary Preucil rocks!
My son has enjoyed taking cello lessons with him. He's patient and kind. He pushes the student to improve their technique and allows them to choose music they're interested in while bringing his own music to the table. He asks about them as a person. He's the whole package. You won't be disappointed! I'd only change us not being on the other side of the USA so we could do in person!

Five stars to Caroline Kuhn for vocal lessons for my children for two years now. She is teaching them to harmonize. And now they have started to improvise other songs on their own. Her lessons have collectively helped them to the honor choirs, state choir. She has an amazing personality, shows up without last minute surprises. Always maintains communication.

Virtu has been a good platform. But had to run through a few teachers to find a good one for us. Yvette Keong was ok - had a good first impression - but kept rescheduling last minute multiple times. And wouldn’t turn for some classes.

Overall the then negative experience , is now forgotten.

I love Virtu Academy and my teacher Yvette Keong! My experience with Yvette is that she is a very kind, compassionate, and skilled voice teacher, and I’m so glad that we have gotten to work together. My name is Sammy Jaworek and I have been Yvette’s student since 2022. I started taking voice lessons with Yvette, following being in the ensemble of a community theater musical and wanting to be able to strengthen my singing. My original goal was to practice for community theater auditions, and have support if I was ever in another musical. Yvette has been so helpful with this and has given me the confidence to reach and expand my singing goals. She has taught me so much, from vocal warmups, to how to switch between different parts of my voice, to how to break down the structure of a song. She has helped me prep for community theater auditions, and helped me expand my repertoire with singing songs I am passionate about. My favorite thing about voice lessons with Yvette is how kind she is, and how thrilled she is to help me pursue songs that I love and that inspire me. I never would have been brave enough to sing songs from my favorite artists in a voice lesson without her. She encourages me to pick my own songs, and supports me through the hard parts of songs, and lets me have a safe environment to learn and make mistakes. I have had some bad experiences with voice training/musical theatre/acting training in the past, and it really shook my confidence until I met Yvette. I’m so grateful for her and can’t imagine a better voice teacher.
Warmly,
Sammy Jaworek

This is a great platform. I am so glad I found it. I started taking cello lessons with Maya and she is fantastic. She is very well versed and is a very capable teacher. She clearly explains what I need to do to learn this beautiful instrument and is so very encouraging. I am a very beginner. She is working on note reading with me as well. I really appreciate all she does to help me learn. This has been a dream of mine arms Virtu.Academy and Maya were making it a reality! I would highly recommend this to everyone! Make your musical dreams come true!!
