I’m not sure where to begin, but as an international student, I would not recommend spending your money on this university. I completed my Master of Public Health here, and while the lecturers were great, the overall experience was stressful.

The finance department is highly disorganised. When I first joined the university, they required me to pay an additional deposit, claiming it was refundable. However, without any prior notice, they later adjusted the fees, causing significant confusion.Despite their own miscalculations and lack of transparency, they treated me as if I had failed to pay the required fees. After numerous emails, they finally provided an explanation yet they still didn’t clarify where the adjustments had been made. My main concern is why they took the extra payment in the first place, only to create unnecessary stress later.

The second issue was with the accommodation.I had to wait three months for my graduation. I requested an extension for my stay during this period, which was initially approved. I clearly informed the staff that I was extending my stay solely because I was waiting for my graduation and would be moving back to Dubai afterward. However, just a week before the ceremony, I was told to move out. This created unnecessary stress, forcing me to relocate all my luggage to a hotel at the last minute. Not only was this a major hassle, but it also affected my ability to fully enjoy my graduation.

Another major issue is the lack of support for alumni. Once you’ve completed your degree, don’t expect any response from them. I have been repeatedly requesting an academic reference letter for my PhD application, but no one seems to care. This lack of support speaks volumes about the university’s priorities it feels like they are only interested in students while they’re paying tuition, but once you graduate, you’re on your own.

I’m offering this as constructive criticism because, while the university falls short of meeting standards in terms of management and organisation, the Public Health department stands out. The majority of the lecturers are highly experienced, and there’s a great opportunity to learn from them. Additionally, the library services are excellent, which enhances the overall academic experience. If the university focused on improving these issues, it could build a strong reputation organically, with alumni proudly representing it worldwide.

Just an awful university. Spend 2 horrifying years here! Lecturers don’t bother responding to emails and some don’t even turn up to lectures! ASK@WLV seem like they don’t care and unwilling to help, only to advise you to put a “helpcall” on Evision. Very glad to have withdrawn from this “establishment”, taken a gap year to help my mental health and overcome the trauma I had at this university (yes that’s how damaging this university is!). Now I’m at a respectable university who is supporting me loads!

Do yourself a huge favour and not even consider applying to this university!

This is the worst University to have come across so far, I have applied for my MSc here late August for a January start and I have been chasing the admission team for each step. When students apply for courses they would normally expect updates from time to time but I have been chasing them for my application updates. This experience alone reflects the future of studying here so I am already scared and frustrated. The admission team clearly shows that they don't know their job and have to be chased. I wonder why this university exist with all these very negative reviews!

I applied for my Master's Degree in this university. To cut the long story short, they declined my application as they suspected that my university in my country did not exist, even if I have submitted them my authentic transcript of records, certified degree diploma, and all the requirements to prove that it's me as I have graduated 30 years ago and been married for 25 years. I am 53 years old and decided to pursue my Master's. I even asked my university to email Wolverhampton to prove that they existed, that all my credentials are not a fraud. But the University of Wolverhampton did not even ecknowledge that.
So I applied to a different university, and I was given unconditional offer for my Master's as my current job backed it up with a fantastic reference too. No questions asked. I have been a British citizen since 2005, and the way University of Wolverhampton handled my application was very disappointing.
I am now very happy finishing my first module in a different university, and the support I am getting is brilliant.

If I could give no stars I would. Absolute shambles of a law course. Continuous changes to the timetable (with no consultation) including introducing late nights classes for students leaving them at the mercy of trains companies to get home. No regard to the student welfare and a student support service which is non existent!! Absolutely avoid Wolverhampton!!!!!! 🤦‍♂️
