This is a very scenic and lovely place for a dog walk and weve been coming here for years but for those who dont have their dogs on a lead that have NO CONTROL of them ruins it. Our dog is very friendly but also nervous and also frightening for myself as an owner not knowing how their dogs are going to react. I have had to ask several people to call their dogs away from mine and one which resulted in their dog growling and snarling when the owner had to restrain it. The owner informed me they dont always know how he will behave!!

I've had really impressive experiences when it came to my courses and some extracurricular activities that have gone above and beyond in terms of planning trips, inviting speakers and creating future opportunities for the students. However, the accommodation is lacking, the dining rooms often can't fit everyone whose staying if they were all to try and eat at once and the WiFi connection in the accommodation is spotty (I once got disconnected mid online test). Additionally, someone I know described an endless process of being referred to finance department by the accommodation department and then back to the accommodation department by the finance department who trying to sort out an issue paying for accommodation

I came here for its open day on 7th July 2018.

There was lots of parking.
We were greeted by many helpers around the massive campus, who guided us into the main information area, where we got all we needed for the day, including a free tote bag and free water. Wildlife prospers around the area. You may see rabbits!

It’s a very quiet and peaceful area, away from the city life. You can find yourself in many quiet places.

Everyone was very helpful. You can walk around yourself or be toured around by friendly students.

I attended the biochemistry talks and the chemistry talks. They were very informative and very helpful. Thank you Mr Hemmings!

You can get very fit from walking around from one class to another, there’s a lot of walking needed to get somewhere. It’s very spaced out.

The accommodations are very nice. There are three types of accommodations and they are all very modern, and are situated in a quiet area.

The science blocks are state of the art, especially the chemistry laboratories.

However, you can get lost if you don’t use the map, as it’s very spaced out. I got lost thrice.

This overall is a great university for the scientists. It’s like a small town, there are lots of shops, lots of restaurants, a nice community with its own area for all subjects.

However, there isn’t much time to look around everything, unless you run all the time!

There are also lots of options for the musician.
The university is also LGBT friendly and actively spreads awareness on sexual harassment and matters like that!

They even have gender neutral toilets!

I am definitely adding this to the list of universities I may apply for! Thank you for everything, UEA. H

English Literature student-
I had a fantastic advisor, and there is fantastic mental health and learning disability support within the uni, but on my actual course I felt very neglected, without much support from my lecturers. Some have been fantastic, but outnumbered by the staff that just provide links and a PowerPoint.
Campus is beautiful, and they provide employment opportunities which is great, but have found the uni to be very greedy with money, charging students £20 per guest for graduation, and hiking up all other fees, only for it to be in the sports hall. This was a huge issue for students and so disappointing that they charged for our final moment at university, when it feels like my £9k a year wasn’t worth it

Went for a quick walk around the campus. Really pleased for our daughter to read Psychology at UEA. Situated in 36 acres with lots of rural space and greenery for social distancing 👍

To be quite honest, I found this school to be fairly dreadful. The surrounding city is great, but the campus itself is a dreary concrete abomination. The academics hardly make up for this. Perhaps it’s my American schooling simply setting unfair expectations, but I found lectures to be poorly run, while the information was fairly simple and behind my American classes. The school was rarely organized, as never-ending construction made class locations random ever week. For students in accommodations, there are usually several issues that are fixed long after they should be. I would not recommend this school.

A great public space for walking, relaxing and taking in nature. A place to breathe.. a lake to walk round, listen to the trees wave in a breeze, see a sculpture trail, watch bird life.
