The Potters Barn hosted an inspiring pottery experience for a group of beginners during a staff away day hosted at Keele Uni campus. It was superb - a chance to try the wheel, hand build and decorate. Big thanks to Andrew for creating a relaxing and warm atmosphere. It was an added bonus when the fired pots arrived in the post a few weeks later.

I would really recommend this for any groups looking for an introduction to the world of pottery or to try something new as a team. Thank you Potters Barn!

A wonderful hidden gem of a place - welcoming to beginners and experienced potters alike. I've been going to the Thursday evening class for over 10 years now, and Andy and Steve are brilliant. Their knowledge is second to none and they are always helpful. The one off day classes are also fantastic for getting a taste of both throwing on the wheel and hand building.

I have been visiting The Potters Barn weekly for many years. I wanted to learn how to throw pots and was very lucky to find Andy & Steve who are both professional potters. It’s a friendly and relaxing place to learn a new craft or to continue on your journey with clay. I have met lifelong friends here & have also enjoyed their taster sessions and some wonderful Raku days. I can highly recommend The Potters Barn. x

What a great experience. I did the short session which is 2 hours long and covers a range of different pottery techniques - which I won't spoil, but more details are on the website if you want to book. You can take a drink but don't need anything else, an apron and all the tools are provided. Wear something short sleeved or where the sleeves can be rolled up as it can get a little messy. Our teacher was great, full of facts and knowledge from his experiences. The pieces you make and want to keep and be fired for a small additional cost per piece or can be taken home to dry naturally and then painted. Anything you don't want can be left and is recycled. There's parking outside the barn too. Would 100% recommend for a bit of fun.

W did painting and model building with our 5 yr and 7 yr old Grandchildren a few months ago. It can be at a level that the kiddies do their own or you help along, you stay to supervise them. There are around 7 or 8 activity tables so it is best to call in advance to ensure there is space to join in. Downstairs is a small pottery studio so definitely ring in advance to check when a session is available. The proprietor allows you to choose the activity at your own pace in a relaxed environment. The kiddies clearly enjoyed it as they remembered and asked to go again. Now the older one is 8 yrs old she is keen to give the pottery activity a go while the younger one wants to paint again. Speaks for itself!

Wow! Brought my 11 year daughter for her second visit today and it was equally as good as the first time! There's pot painting, playing with clay and (her favourite) using a Potters Wheel.
Under very gentle (but expert) guidance she has produced two lovely shaped pots with instructions for drying and painting. Well worth a visit

This was a lovely place to visit. We made clay animals and then painted some pottery. It's down a little narrow road so be careful driving down, not all road users are considerate. The prices are good and the owner is nice and friendly. Would recommend. You have to book in advance for the potters wheel which I wasn't aware of.
