Excellent collection of early computers and gaming devices, mostly from the 70s and 80s. If, like me, you run out of fingers counting the machines on display that you once owned then you're officially getting old! So plenty of nostalgia for the older visitors and a glimpse of what oldies played with in their youth for the younger visitors. Overall not to be missed by any self-respecting techo-nerd 🙂

We booked a private visit for a home ed group today. This included a 2 hour exclusive visit and a scratch coding lesson if wanted (for approx 8years+) The kids had so much fun playing the retro game consoles and on the computers. They also had lots of things in display cases and information all around. Staff were fantastic with the kids and explained how things worked when needed. I honestly cannot recommend enough! Rest assured all the screens and lighting worked perfectly- it is just my camera.

My 2 children and I, along with some other families had a lovely experience here. It really seems to be a hidden gem in Swindon. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable. The place is full of old computers and games to play. My 7 year old and I had a long session of competitive Pong! The highlights for me were playing Lemmings and original Mario. It was eye-opening for the kids to see how gaming has changed over the years. Ticket price is very reasonable as you can stay there as long as you want and leave for lunch/come back. Fab way to spend a rainy day in Swindon!

I had a blast playing Prince of Persia on an Amstrad era Sinclair and good talk with the owner who filled me in on some of the history . Lots to try and do. Thoroughly recommended .

We stumbled upon this place today, and couldn't resist popping in to take a look. Wow!

Such an amazing collection, and so many machines on for you to play with.
I had a chat with one of the volunteers about the Amiga and Atari ST. He suggested I have a look at the ST, and see if it could match the Amiga (I was an Amiga fan back in the day). Unfortunately, he was busy talking to someone else when it came time to leave, so I wasn't able to confirm that the Amiga was indeed king in that particular battle.
Anyway, I digress. The volunteers are friendly and willing to chat if you want to. The price was a massive surprise. For the fun we had, we feel the visit was an absolute bargain.

If you have the slightest interest in computers or video games, you have to pay this place a visit.

Most of the computers are set up so you can play with them. I'm old enough to have seen a lot of the tech on display released new but even I learnt stuff and got to play with things I hadn't before. Well worth the visit

Absolutely fantastic museum. Loads of great exhibits, with really clear information. Best part is there are dozens of hands on machines to play with.
Experience what it was like loading games from tape. Play the original Lemmings on an Amiga 500. Set a new high score in Duck Hunt.
Staff really friendly too and great for families.
Highly recommended.
