Care more about what the students look like than how their learning is getting on.
Inconsistant rules and regulations. Some students get penalised for certain rules but others dont. And to top it all off, a Student Welfare Officer that doesnt know how to spell check!

This school is mediocre, just to say that this school in has an ethnic minority of English, this isn’t down to the school but mainly the surrounding estates, this school is supposedly a business and enterprise school, with a beautifully designed modern building and facilities. However, this is school has a below national average for GCSE and A-Level results; this isn’t necessarily down to the children as the teachers don’t have the best understanding of what kind of work pushes the limits of children’s minds and it just gets them by, the slogan for the school is ‘Everyone Achieves’ and it’s not wrong, but there is a massive catch as there is always a different depth and level of achieving depending on who the person is, this school is very complicated and the important and high up teachers such as: Mr J Down (A former police officer) and Mr S Akram seem to just babble on about the ‘High Expectations’ in MKA; this isn’t their fault as the students just don’t comply with them hardly ever and most of the teachers end up being very lazy and not doing their job that they spent 20 years on to the best of their ability because they have to be more worried about the wellbeing and behaviour of most students.

Some food in the school is unsatisfactory, but it all depends on personal preference. I personally don’t mind the food in the school and the portions are decently sized for a school dinner- the money system operates of biometrics which runs of your personal fingerprint datalocked into your account on their system, to put money on them your child will have to bring in money to then input it into an ATM in the cafeteria.

Overall I would rate the school a 3/5 but the teaching isn’t what should be at a secondary school to cater over 1000 students and it’s a 60% chance you will find yourself with a supply teacher EVERY DAY ; most of the kids are absolute scum with there being many gangs involved within the school- this isn’t to say that there is any wielding of armed weapons or knives because there isn’t at all, but take in note that the gangs are spread over a course of schools weather they are good or bad - the hygiene of this school is very clean and it always smells excellent ,when walking into the school you can feel the difference of heat as it’s facilities are very new and definitely satisfactory.

It’s really sad to see such a nice building have such a reputation but it’s really the kids that bring it down - your education all depends on your personal mindset and not being ‘rated’ (Popular)

Again I say that this school is a 3/5 and a average school with a bad reputation, the school is appealing and oversubscribed with multi-ethnic students mostly living in the surrounding estates.

The school is definitely improving from what it used to be as now joining a multi-academy trust.

The Head lies to parents faces. Mr Hutchinson makes promises he never sticks to. The school is not performing to national standards. Chemistry Staff are more interested in their phone content then teaching. They eat and are using their mobile devices while teaching. I would look at another school to send your kids. I wouldn’t trust them with the education of children. Their is No professional conduct between staff and students. They never return parents calls or deal with complaints. They remove GCSE lessons half way through a term shutting down departments as they are short on money leaving students who have worked for over a year with no course to be tested on, all because they over spent on the new construction.
I am very conserned that the school have impacted on the issues of cars and parents in such a small area. They use the excuse that using the rear gates is safer however it in fact more dangerous due to cars being compacted into a smaller area. The head has used a momorial of a biker who died as his excuse to move the exit. He has not thought about the kids that use the busses and how they will acsess them now they have moved the gates making the kids late. He has even suggested he will make the busses changed their time table for the school! This school is a joke. It’s all about themselves and their personal image. The students don’t even figure in the picture.

If you want a good education go elsewhere.

The Milton Keynes Academy can be summed up in one word: egotistical. It’s a school that is too focused on their view from outsiders rather than the activity behind closed doors. From personal experience, the staff with higher “importance” (Typically the senior leadership, who have earned their position through age) show no genuine compassion or concern to pupils emotions. Members of staff like to complain about students; sure they litter, get excited at times, and achieve average results. But surely all of this could not possibly be influenced by the staff...could it? The members of staff with power don’t motivate students or teach them the true reality of a failed education. The school prefers to focus on ‘safeguarding’ as they call it. This consists of calling a 30 minute assembly to make an unnecessary fuss of boys playing a game of bum slapping; online arguments and the usual verbatim e-safety speech. To any staff reading this, an argument is not bullying. Sometimes people get what is deserved, there will always be consequences to every action. Just because that consequence happens to occur online, does not make it cyberbullying.

It also seems the school has a history of money wasting; starting with the destruction of Sir Frank and birth of MKA. A modern school seemed extremely unnecessary, especially considering the number of oldest schools in MK with significantly higher ratings and reviews. Furthermore, the a brand new cafeteria (which is smaller than the last, and poses a genuine safety concern in regards to overcrowding) is graced with its inclusion to the family of wasted investments. On the subject of investments; the school presents themselves as an ‘enterprise/business school.’ Which basically translates to: “We are known as a re-sitters school with nothing to offer, but we do have a few contracts with some businesses.” The school only has around 2-3 formally trained business staff, but loves to boast their most prized assets- the senior leadership team who’ll ‘hook you up’ with their so-called ‘contacts.’ This ‘contact’ will most likely be Niftylift™ and failing this they’ll throw you on a enterprise ‘enrichment.’ During this ‘enrichment’ you will probably find yourself counting the seconds on the clock, whilst doing absolutely nothing constructive. Later on in life, you’ll find out no one cares that you took this business ‘opportunity’ and that you wasted many precious hours of your life by doing so.

“The school has great food”- said no one ever. Many students that have moved from other schools are horrified by the quality of the food. Despite numerous complaints it’s not been changed. MKA takes school meals to a different level; this is no longer the stereotypical school meal - it is worse. Just ask the consumers of these meals for an in depth description.

The school isn’t exactly renowned for listening to their students ideas, which is how they’ve ended up like this. Pupils with innovative ideas are shut down by the staff, unless, it can benefit the great big war against bullying of course! Staff with importance, the staff who aren’t exposed to students and their behaviour daily; perpetuate this image of pupils as the main antagonists! It’s evident, they’re too afraid to admit their wrongdoings, even after possibly reading this they’d be in the constant, continuous state of abnegation. These complainers are the issue, they must look in a mirror and face the reality of their ignorance. The school is running out of money- and fast. They like to complain about minor issues, when they have a greater ones themselves. For example, leaving the lights on during all holidays, 24/7 - it seems a trivial issue but it contributes to the money wasting and damage to the environment. The school is good at wasting money, which is ironic as the proclaim themselves business/enterprise specialists.

This school is not even worthy of my 1 star rating , just as they are not worthy of their ofsted review.

Being at the school is horrible you get treated badly they don’t even realise the water in the school has got things floating about in the water from the fountains not being cleaned right it’s disgusting

The food at the school is horrible as well it’s sitting there under heaters that the food starts to sweat while it sits there from 12-1:15 only having 3 lunches in between those times and only having 30 minutes as well not having enough to eat without getting rushed in the end

The school will say to parents that they will look after your child and help them when they really don’t they will delete messages from parents if they don’t like them and get rude to the students but then lie about it to the parents the school can’t even find students some of the time as well.

The head teacher of the school Doesn’t care about anything but the money he is getting in his back pocket he will lie and make things up to make himself look good and having other members of his team help him lie as well nothing gets sorted and your child will be left unknowing what’s going on they will stress your children out with year 11 work as well and will not explain like they are meant to the school is a money grabbing and non caring place I would say move your children or don’t send them here the school needs to find teachers and teaching support being promising students stuff.

Poor strategic management of the school.

Poor discipline.

The school seem to be more worried about how students dress rather than how they perform.

Mr Akram is a brilliant teacher!
