The program itself is okay, at best. You really need to read and study the textbook, which is written quite well and is easy to understand. Quite a lot of useless assignments, like so-called “instructional” videos which consist of the instructor reading PowerPoints verbatim, and their podcast which is somewhat interesting at times, but truly a waste of time as it does not serve any educational benefit.

Don’t get sick, or experience a chronic health condition that affects your ability to participate regularly. I was experiencing significant health problems, with the medical documentation to back it up. They simply didn’t care. They claimed to “care” about my health issues and wished me well, but refused to offer any extensions to help me get back on track. They heavily suggested withdrawing, so that’s what I ended up doing. But then, they refused to reimburse me my tuition because I “completed too many assignments”. How insane is that? They’re constantly emailing you and calling you telling you to get your work in, but then tell you that your health circumstances aren’t significant enough to extend deadlines, while simultaneously, telling you that you don’t qualify for a refund because you’ve completed too much work. This policy lacks common sense and is completely unreasonable. Furthermore, the instructor was outright rude about it. While I could understand not refunding a student or offering extensions to them based on their own failure to do the work, having a legitimate medical condition with the documentation to back it up should have been considered unique and their policy should have been adjusted for such a scenario. Furthermore, the student handbook was misleading in that it suggested that dates could be extended under unpreventable circumstances and that refunds would be considered if the student had a legitimate need to withdraw. They also implied that I would be able to return to my program at no additional cost, which proved to be untrue.

After receiving health care treatment that allowed me to return to the program, I was told that previous tuition could not be used for a new enrollment. This is despite the way they made it sound when I first withdrew.

Wouldn’t recommend getting your training through Axon. You’d be better off going with an in-person program.

They refuse to accept medical exemption for vaccines. You will have one person telling you one thing then someone else telling you something different. Would not recommend this place. Definitely switching to somewhere else.

Texas EMS School was where I completed my EMT and recently my Paramedic. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful through the entire process. I received weekly calls just to check to see if I was doing well and answer any questions I may have about any of the program. The curriculum was challenging and comprehensive and because of this I passed all my FISDAP unit tests and comprehensive on first attempts. They are also very easy to communicate with. They actually listened to whatever situation I might be having. I wholeheartedly believe that this is the best online EMS school out there. I also appreciated the required in person skills lab. The instructor were knowledgeable and were active medics and shared real life examples to enhance my skills.

If i could give no stars i seriously would. I do NOT recommend this program to any upcoming EMT or paramedic. I honestly regret making the decision so fast to do their program . Its mistakes after mistakes . No help when mistakes on there end are made and no accountability.

Would highly recommend going to a different school. Terrible experience and wouldn’t wish it on anybody! I backed out as the longer I stayed the worse it had gotten. The course work and customer services reps are great but management and leadership honestly are some of the worst I’ve dealt with on a professional and personal level.

Like many others have said, the program is just okay. My biggest problem which caused my program to take the full 24 months was me waiting for approximately 6 months for the clinical team to be able to schedule me in a hospital. If you take this program you must know you have to be a huge advocate for yourself, you have to bug the clinical team repeatedly on clinical request because they will not followup for you (I was told this by another staff member). The course is taught exclusively by a JB textbook with no or very little additional resources by the instructors, unless you scheduled tutoring, which during my time was very hard to do with often a minimum of a one week wait. The reason for the one star was due to the ENORMOUS stress the scheudling issues placed on me, I was in constant fear of being removed from the program, and best assurances I was given I wouldn't is "we know it is not your fault, but we cannot guarantee they will approve your extension".

While it is nice the program is online and self-paced, it was very hard to complete the program due to their clinical scheduling issues, which lasted a very long time and I did not feel as if the clinical scheduling team really had my back. I am sure the EMT program is fine, but I would be very caution and exhaust other options before attending this program. If I was not self-pay I would have likely been terminated from the program due to their scheduling issues. Take the program with a grain of salt, and BE AN ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. Also note, I signed up for their program because both a hospital and ambulance service WAS LISTED AS A CLINICAL SITE IN MY CITY. To find out much later, the closest hospital was 150 miles away 🙂

And if you need help the people in the support team are exceedingly kind and helpful. The skill labs were also good, although I wish we practiced more scenario based items, rather than a kind of 'free for-all' skill day. The skills instructor was more than AMAZING and has a heart of pure gold, I just wish we did not have to spend a large majority of the skill days coming up with sort of unrealistic scenarios in order to check off all of the required skills we had to do, but I believe that has changed since I graduated.

I started out really liking this school. I picked this school because I could work on my medic and juggle work and home at the same time. Their skills coordinator is incredible. I’ve never walked away from a lab feeling more confident than from one of these labs, the instructor took the time to care about you as a provider and a student. Where it all went wrong was at the end. I’ll leave it as perhaps they should care more about the success of a student than money.

This is a self paced school to obtain your EMT all the way to your Paramedic. There professional support team is amazing. The team there is always willing to help at the drop of a dime.
Melissa ,Kenzie , Adam , Leah ,Brittany and Nicole or all wonderful people and goes above to me sure you or getting the support and the course materials. I’m an actually student and would recommend this school to anyone interested in furthering their education.
