Impressive tower, which caught my eye as soon as I entered the town. Inside the church, it was even more impressive, with ornate lierne vaulting ribs supporting the tower roof. The inside also features saxon and roman remnants. Worth visiting if you are into history or architecture.

My Great Great Grandfather William James Matthews was buried in the cemetery here in 1917.
I think he was born in the village in December 1838
He was an agricultural labourer.
I wonder if any local historians know if he had a Headstone?

Having the prayer room at the front is most pleasing. That is what churches should be - as Jesus said "My house shall be called a house of prayer"

A stupendous church but not often open. Look for the re-used Roman carvings in the wall and the fabulous tower interior.

Large church given the size of the town. Impressive stained glass windows.
