Sparsholt College

I went for the welding induction hoping to learn some tig welding and get into doing level 2 tig. Unfortunately the standard of teaching was poor and very amateur, 1 to 1 teaching out of the 20 odd hours attended amounted to about 10 mins, the main instructor i saw only twice out of 7 sessions. Was told second from last session that a test was required to do level 2(although website says to do level 2 you need to complete a induction course?) of which they didn't prepared anyone for including two others on the course. seems silly, like you can't have driving lessons because you don't know how to drive And why can't you get people up to the level required? And at least make the effort to? Bitterly disappointed and money and time wasted

It was a good college, I had lots of fun there in the animal management course and am lucky to get to experience such a unique experience. I would recommend this college and I got lots of help with passing Despite my struggles.

Must unorganized college from the ground up unless removing someone yet still using temporary buildings from the early 2000s . Edit their using teams instead of Moodle that worked. Edit edit will enroll you then expel you if an lsa takes a dislike to you ( Millie Kirby) didn't like my name and made a complaint

My daughter went to this college to study animal management. I unfortunately can’t recommend it at all. The lack of organisation and support caused her to suffer significantly with her mental health. Lecturers didn’t show for lessons or just set holding tasks. When I queried it I was told that wasn’t true (a whole class of students said differently). An absolute waste of 2 years almost every student failed.

Had no teachers or support for half of my second year, paid to go back as a mature student and ended up failing (amongst many others in the class) and wasting 2 years and lots of money. Higher up weren’t interested in our complaints and we were expected to just get on with it. 0/10 would not recommend

Went to this college for two years, but really wish I hadn't. They use the opportunity to work with the animals to lure people in during open days but the college is mismanaged and students never have any idea what's going on. Some staff treated us as though we were in the wrong for being annoyed about how hectic management is, they're also very patronising and hypocritical. Some days I had to come in for nine hours just for a one hour lesson. Every time we complained nothing would get done, students are never taken seriously. My lecturers were friendly and I liked being in their lessons but it really wasn't worth the toll the college had on my mental health. Don't go to this college.

The most unorganised and careless college going. Not all but some staff members were rude, and VERY CLEARLY held grudges against students which is unacceptable. Important information such as exam briefs, exam results and important feedback was giving late causing students to get extremely stressed and anxious. Students got blamed for things that were not their fault and lessons always got cancelled, even though, according to course leaders, lessons were not allowed to be cancelled. Pretty sure I spent more time sat around doing nothing due to cancelled lessons than actually being in lessons. Hated the long and painful 2 years I was there and 100% do not recommend this college:)

Had high hopes as did my daughter as we knew people who had attended previous years. My daughter has just finished her second year of level 3 animal management course. The only way to describe the last two years at this college as disorganised, disappointing and left feeling unsupported and unworthy. So many lessons are cancelled at short notice. Course and staff changes are not well managed and communication is lacking. Only one member of staff has shown any interest in my daughters education and that is Kate Buss. I don' t like having to give negative feedback, but the college do not seem to have any effective communication procedures. Therefore students and parent are left feeling cheated.
