I recently completed the 16-week intensive bootcamp at the School of Code and it was an incredible experience. Throughout the program, I learned a vast array of technical and soft skills that have equipped me with a strong foundation for a career in tech.

One of the highlights was the opportunity to work on real-life projects with actual stakeholders, which provided invaluable practical experience. The program culminated in a demo day, where we showcased our projects to leading tech companies, giving us fantastic exposure and networking opportunities.

While the bootcamp is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work, perseverance truly pays off. The skills and knowledge I gained have been transformative, and I feel well-prepared to take on a tech career.

Highly recommend to anyone looking to break into the tech industry!

The School of Code has given me the skills I need to transition into a tech career. I wouldn't have got to this point on my own. They don't just teach you technical skills but also the soft and professional skills you need to be industry ready. Not only that, the support throughout is immense, from the coaches, the rest of the cohort as well as the mentors and industry experts. It's such a collaborative environment and I've met a great bunch of people. The ongoing support after the course is also fantastic, helping us to get into our first tech roles. I can't thank everyone enough. The course is hard, I've never been so challenged in my life, but it's also the most rewarding thing and I've had so much fun working on projects! Thank you School of Code!

I recently completed the 16-week bootcamp at the School of Code, and it was an incredible journey. I learned to create and deploy full-stack software—from someone who had never seen a line of code before.

The course structure was brilliant, building on simple concepts and gradually expanding. Regular talks from industry experts provided valuable insights, and the Q&A sessions were gold for aspiring tech professionals.

The post-course support, especially from the employment team, was incredible. And the coaches—Tom, Cat, and Chris—were unmatched in their professionalism, energy, and passion throughout the course.

In summary, the School of Code is not just a bootcamp; it’s a life-changing experience. If you’re considering a career in tech, look no further.

This was one of the most intense experiences I have done - but one of the most rewarding. Filled with amazing fellow boot campers and caring and knowledgeable coaches. If I could go back in time and experience it fresh again I would - I really feel I have been set up to succeed in the tech field.

Truly a life changing experience and the School of Code was one of the best (and most difficult) things I've done in my life and career! Coming from a marketing background, I've never thought that I'm 'smart' or technical enough to even dream to work as a developer. After 12 weeks, I was amazed by how much School of Code has helped us learn, not just in terms of tech, but also in terms of helping us believe a bit more in ourselves and our skills.
I really recommend SoC to everyone - even if you don't want to be a developer, there are multiple careers in tech you can choose from.

My time at the School of Code was life-changing. I went from knowing next to nothing about programming to being career ready in a matter of mere months. The fact that it was absolutely free, the supportive community of coaches, my own personal mentor and lifelong friends I made during the program made it such a great program. However, the best thing I gained from SOC would definitely be the ability to think critically and sharpen my problem solving skills. These are traits I find myself using on a regular basis in my career now and I couldn't be more thankful for my SOC experience!

The School of Code has created a unique learning environment for their bootcamp.

There is a special culture that has been created between the organisers, coaches and is reflected in the bootcampers themselves. Each person is valued and encouraged to learn quickly by the structures that are in place. Mistakes are encouraged and viewed as learning opportunities.

The course is intense and each week at least one new topic is covered. There are also mindset sessions, talks from industry and past boot campers to add value and variety to the days. Each boot camper is assigned a mentor to support and guide learning. A vast library of resources is used to support learning which would have been difficult to discover on my own.

I was initially surprised by the emphasis on problem solving first and writing code second but after having been through the bootcamp, I now understand why. If this is something that you are even a little bit curious about then I would definitely recommend using the School of Code as your choice of course to aid entry onto the career pathway.

I'd recommend this bootcamp to anyone looking to become a Full Stack developer. It's hard work but the pair programming skills you'll pick up are invaluable and hard to find on other bootcamps!

I loved meeting and working with new people each week, and the highlight was the 5 week project at the end where we were given free reign to build an application to solve a real world issue. This is something that looks great on a portfolio and it's far more accessible than trying to find people to collaborate with when self taught.

The SoC staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and I'm thankful to have their support! As well as the support of my work mentor, who has been a huge help throughout and after the bootcamp.

The course is well structured and covers most of what you need, though personally I would have found it helpful to cover more on React testing and end to end testing towards the end of the course, perhaps replacing the revision week in the middle. Regardless, you are strongly encouraged to keep learning after the course and you are likely to meet others on the course willing to take on new challenges with you.

You are not handed or guaranteed a job, especially in the current economy where hiring has reduced significantly. SoC still provides a significant amount of partner jobs, and your odds of getting one are a lot higher than a junior position open to anyone if you work hard. Plus the networking opportunities and interaction with people in the industry go a long way.

Yes you can learn the technical skills on your own, however the School of Code will fast track you to get there and it will be a much more enjoyable process working alongside others whilst you do.

P.S. You’ll finish with some hench legs, if you know you know
