Scarborough TEC

Everyone staying here beware. Scarborough TEC has a toxic work culture which is spilling onto paying clients. I needed extra time in accommodation due to a serious back injury risking further injury if I moved my things. I was told there was no room and if I didn’t leave, the police would be called. Horrible. The woman was so inhumane. Not wanting the police at my door, I risked serious injury having to move my things up and down 4 flights of stairs and what must have been a 200m walk. If I hurt myself further I would have been unable to work which is serious. There was no understanding from the accommodation person and only accusations and threats. To add insult to injury, some random women approached me in the car park whilst I was moving out and, loudly and publicly accused me in this manner: “We have seen you wandering around. There are children here and we are wondering what you are up to”. Disgusting humiliating behaviour to endure. I was clearly moving house and even if I wasn’t what kind of way is that to talk to a stranger. Also as far as I am aware there are no children at the Scarborough TEC. She was apparently the duty manager. Some time later as I was still packing, another woman told me to “move my car” even though I had been given permission to load and unload at that spot. Then the duty manager came sprinting from down the road shouting “have you told him to move!”. It was all very embarrassing and I felt humiliated to be treated in such an appalling manner. There were people around at both incidents. The staff are clearly high off their own perceived power and arrogance and that is their work culture. I was not planning to post a public review, however, when I asked how to make a complaint I was directed to the main TEC partnership website. They did not even have the courtesy to respond. So now I am warning the general public about what goes on here. The staff have the potential to verbally attack you. Foreign workers staying here would be ill equipped to deal with this kind of behaviour, and the staff here really cause harm. I was incredibly upset leaving this place, can’t imagine how hard it would be for a vulnerable or minority person if they did this to them. I will never stay here again and have warned fellow workers and employers about this nasty behaviour.

NOT. A disablity friendly college there is no help and surport if you have mental disability or mobility issues Even tho it states they cater for disabilitys . They are NOT So if you have disabilitys I would not bother applying It need a full inspection with a fine tooth comb as soon as possiable

Wouldn’t recommend that anyone should go here wouldn’t even send my dog there such a bad college in and out no matter what they do they are useless

Absolutely the best college I’ve ever been to. Staff constantly walking around campus making sure everyone is doing ok, food is delicious, clean and friendly place to be. I study Level 3 BTEC computing and love every second. The tutors are friendly and helpful, create a relaxed atmosphere and often feels like a chat between people interested in the subject. The tutors will teach everything you need to pass and do well but they also feel just like a pupil who wants to be friends. I have an EHCP and get more then enough support, they give mobile numbers for me to contact them at any point if I’m having a panic attack and they will come running to find me and help. 100% recommend!

Nice accommodation. Serene ambience. Kitchen is a bit overpopulated

Lovely college. We visited to see the student art exhibition .Fabulous!

My younger sister was suspended for being late after her dentist appointment, we were told she would receive a call on Monday, come Thursday I ring up and the women who is in charge of it all is on annual leave, so now she has missed a full week of college and will probably miss a few more days.

Clean comfortable rooms for a great price. Good kitchen facilities
