What a great independent small business…well worth supporting!

Super friendly and knowledgeable staff paired with a Tardis like interior that boasts an impressive range of items is a winning combination.

They also offer a range of services, I have had keys cut while I wait, and I have had some knives and garden sheers sharpened as well….to a very high standard.

This is EXACTLY what a hardware shop should be. It has everything you’ll ever need AND staff who know how to use it. They give advice and ideas with expertise and eagerness. Everyone seems to take genuine delight in helping you get what you came in for. They will always dig about in their vast storerooms to find things that nobody else ever has. Pextons is a proper old school treasure that sells everything under the sun and will happily chat through your problem with you to make sure you're buying something you actually need. I've bought a lot of DIY and decorating kit, had car fob and watch batteries changed, bought cleaning products, had keys cut, and lots of small little things where you just know that if anyone sells it, it will be Pextons.

What prompted me to write this review was some fantastic service I received the other day, when my car key fob wasn't working. I assumed the battery was dead so I took it in to get replaced. The man who served me tested the old battery and found it had a lot of life left, and instead just cleaned the contacts and refused to charge me a penny. Sure enough that did the job.

I was already a customer for life, but that has sealed it.

Excellent service and very friendly staff.
Always my first choice for any hardware purchases and just recently they helped me remove some old zipper pulls that needed to be replaced.
