I went to this university for one year and it was the worst experience of my life!! First of all, every lecturer has very strong opinions and as a university professor they have a duty to be straight and not biased! Plus not sure half of them know what they are talking about! Second of all, I will say it they are very racist against Arabs!! If you are Arab YOU ARE NOT WELCOMED! Third and lastly there is no such thing as university life.

The university admin is appalling, not providing us timetables until a couple days before. The teaching is shoddy at best, not sure the teachers really know what they're talking about most the time. Don't feel as though I have learnt anything of substance in the last year. Assignments do not relate directly to anything we are taught in a module, suddenly jumps to complicated stuff completely unrelated to what we are taught. Most content is from videos found off of youtube, or videos they have recorded 2/3 years ago - not really sure what they are using the fees for. Feedback for assignments are generic doesn't actually provide constructive feedback, feedback is not consistent between markers, sometimes something is perfect, others it's not good at all. Over assessed, assignments due every 3 weeks, churning them out, seems more like quantity over quality and don't have enough time after feedback to apply it to the next assignment.

I really don't get the bad reviews from people who have never been there. They offer very generous scholarships and bursaries and offer way more than any UK institution in terms of contact hours, student/ staff ratios (my lectures are 5:1) and work load. Highly esteemed in the business world with their professional business programme that you do alongside your degree (LAUNCH) inc live case studies and specialised training and workshops

I am a final year student at New College of the Humanities, studying the single-honours Law LLB. The teaching has been second to none at NCH. I receive weekly lectures and fortnightly seminars in all of my modules and even from my first week at NCH, my classes were no bigger than 11 students. We then have 2 one-to-one tutorials per module per term, which is a 45 minute/1 hour opportunity to submit a formative essay and have it marked, with the whole slot dedicated to improving your essay technique and discussing the topic as a whole.

The opportunities to build up your CV whilst studying are endless. For me as an aspiring solicitor originally, getting internships and onto law firm open days was really important for me. The LAUNCH programme taught me the broad skills needed to thrive in the workplace as well as one-to-one help with my CV and interview skills. We even had the opportunity to attend a mock assessment centre, which is a common application stage for many graduate roles.

The main thing which makes NCH special for me is the caring and interested nature of the staff in the students. They really go out of their way to introduce you to a person, find time to go for a coffee and a chat or help you catch up when you've missed a class.

New College of the Humanities (NCH) stands as the greatest structural adjustment to the British higher education system since the development of the Academy in Plato's Ancient Greece. Two millennia down the line, A.C. Grayling, pioneer, visionary and philosopher-extraordinaire stands at the helm of this venture. The NCH students are gladiators amidst serfs and peasantry, ascending through the acquisition of knowledge so that one day they shall dine amongst the gods; Grayling, of course, acting as our figurative Zeus. The age of the axis of evil draws to an end, salvation is nigh. Apply.
