We had a bit of a wait at the door, but it was worth the wait!
A friendly welcome and we are shown to our table, the atmosphere is cozy and we have a window seat with a stunning view of the beach😊. Our order was taken by a friendly member of staff and we waited our meal.
I was shocked when our food arrived as the size of portions were huge! It has to be said that the food was amazing! The fish was fresh and the batter was crispy andlight, the chips were cooked to perfection, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the outside. We also had curry sauce and minted which were lovely.
One surprise was the tartar sauce! Delicious! Fresh and made in house not the run of mill bottled condiment! We obliterated 2 ramikins of it!
To say we left satisfied is an understatement, I fully recommend that if you are in Cromer to visit this establishment.
They definitely deserve to be called No. 1!!!

Excellent food and service, would recommend!

Visited during lunchtime on Saturday so peak time. We were greeted at the door in a timely fashion and guided to our table.

Despite how busy they were staff were friendly and professional and we didn't feel rushed in the slightest. Restaurant was also clean and well presented.

Our drinks and food came out in good time after ordering, the mini fish and chips I had was fantastic! The batter was light and crisp and the fish was cooked perfectly. As you can see in the pic it was presented really well too.

Yes it is a little more pricey as we sat down in the restaurant as opposed to using the regular takeaway style option (which is also available via a separate entrance.) But I would highly recommend and can see why they get so busy during the peak season.

Really nice Fish and Chip Restaurant. Unassuming and, a nice location.
Our chips were a little dry but still highly recommended.
The "regular" is a very generous portion size.
Well packaged and the salt and real vinegar sachets are a great idea.

Lovely atmosphere at the restaurant and all the staff members were brilliant 👏 We were greeted by a friendly young man and given a window table, simple and nice. Every member there was smiling, asking us if there's anything else we would like. The homemade tartar sauce was AMAZING 👏 🤩 Thank you so much for such a pleasant visit 😊

I did my research and I was not disappointed. Had some delicious chips and gravy here. So nice to have on the front. I'm a Northerner and we take our chips and gravy very seriously, tasty crispy chips and thick gravy, yum. I was very happy. Thank you 🙌🙌🙌.

Lovely fish & chips restaurant that won several awards as one of the best in the country. The batter was light and crispy, mushy peas fresh and tasted homemade, same for the tartare sauce. Service was great too, quick welcoming and efficient. Cash payments are not accepted.

We had some friends over from Seattle and they wanted to experience fish and chips at the seaside. Well they were not disappointed, the fish and chips were outstanding, not greasy but light and delicious. The service from James was exceptional. You can see why they are No 1. Highly recommended.

Lovely fish and chips. Fresh and not fatty/oily like you get in some places. This is the golden standard now for any fish and chips I have. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. Their curry sauce is really good too. Oh, and their toilets were really clean.
