I don't recommend this place. Especially if you're gonna do Computer Science, the teacher was literally useless, first 3 months in first year he taught us some stuff but after that he left us in the class room by ourselves, telling us to learn theory from the power point, he left and we had no computer teacher for half of the second year. My second year further maths teacher was literally obsessed with himself talking about how their family has a coat of arm, instead of helping and solving more and more problems for students (we finished the spec early which is good but after that he didn't do anything other than talking about himself).
But at the end I want to say thank you to Graham, who is one of the best teachers I have ever had, he is the best in physics, and Katie, she is the best in maths and she knows what she is doing and she cares about her students performance.

i am a previous student of NSFC and what i can say about my experience learning here is that many of my fellow classmates were reduced to tears and brought to discouragement in the sociology department. In the history department we were constantly abandoning topics during class because the staff members were rushing lessons towards the computers to type up articles about non-relevant topics. In the English Language department, we were taught using methods you would expect in a primary school such as play dough and silly games that would only distract us.

While in personal development lessons we were only instructed to continue making the reputation of institution look more appealing as the staff only cared about their image. These personal development lessons were meant to be a time for us to learn the fundamentals of obtaining jobs and gaining work experience, this was a waste of time in my case as I left NSFC almost 2 years ago now and I still haven't been able to gain any form of experience working or even in interviews.

I have heard from many of my old classmates and friends there were severe issues regarding staff in the Law, Psychology, Chemistry and Physics departments.

I was a student in this establishment during the COVID-19 era, this sixth-form college was in no way handling the pandemic with the healthcare of students in mind since there was no enforcement of face masks or any other kind of covering, the lack of social distancing enforcement was criminal as students and staff were catching the virus almost at a daily rate. This establishment isn't a favourable place of education or a safe work environment for the mentally challenged as mental health seemed to be the smallest focus of the staff during such a frightening period in our lives.

I hope this review reaches those who need to see if this is the correct choice for their future.

As a past student. I can say Newcastle Sixth Form College was truly an amazing part my life. In my first year I got involved with being a student ambassador, volunteering with one of their many charity links and took part in their first ever World challenge expedition to India. I wasn't the best of students in my first year leaving me with mixed AS results. However with the amazing support of the staff I gained the motivation and determination to come out with the amazing results that I did. I also was quickly promoted to the lead student ambassador in my second year. The college gave me the confidence to do do much, I even gained a part time job in my second year. This place offers way more than an educational, they've prepared me for life (including giving me the confidence to spend a month this coming Sumner to volunteer teaching English in Fiji)

I don’t recommend this sixth form. The teachers keep leaving and left me and my class stranded with supply/ temporary teachers. There was barely any help and most of the teacher definitely have some sort of favouritism to a particular student especially when they’re getting special treatment and extra support.

Overall, I had a pretty decent experience going to this sixth form. The staff took extra time to help me reach my goals, and provided support and encouragement along the way. I feel like I learnt more in my 2 years here than I did at my previous sixth form.

Great place to learn. My only concern is that the 'curly' fries aren't quite curly enough for my satisfaction. The angle at which they create with my protractor is on average 160 degrees ( on a survey carried out on 47 chips purchased at the same time at the refectory between the working days of Tuesday and Friday). As I'm sure many will agree, this does not qualify as 'curly'! Officially (according the 2011 food welfare standards a 'curly' frie must have an angle of at Maximum 90 degrees once cooled for 15 minutes. Apart from this glaring obvious downfall, it's a good school.

Vile staff don’t let your child join unless you want them to be bullied by the people who are supposed to be protecting them. Additionally the sixth form is only predicted to last for another year due to rubbish ratings, not good if your looking for stability in your education.

I can say 100% that this six form is evil. i had a best friend her who was kicked out because he could not have one day off to sit with his girlfriend while she was having a operation. Please for the love of good if you need a caring, helpful, understanding place of education do NOT GO HERE.
