don’t know if it was work experience week but when I visited I was greeted by six teenagers who looked as enthusiastic as a kid forced to an entrance exam and continued to chat providing zero help to my relentless pursuit of a pair of trousers that fit (there was none). Severely overpriced and I would’ve stayed 10m away from this place at all times if my school didn’t choose this particular supplier. The only star was for the only one staff out of the eight present in the store who tried her absolute best to assist me.

I wish I could give zero stars. I’ve only used the shop twice and will travel to petite modes in sale for uniform from now on. Awful quality, awful service both times. I ordered 3 items of PE kit costing over £60 on 12/08 well within the order deadline for delivery before term. Shop told me it hasn’t been shipped and would be at least two weeks. They had the items in store but wouldn’t let me take it. I had to pay again, they told me I could ring and cancel my order but I’ve now been told I can’t cancel my order and have to wait for it to be delivered to store and then return it.

Absolutely shocking service, ordered more than 2 months ago and never received it. After a lot of effort, I managed to get to someone, who advised me to contact Royal Mail as a lost parcel? But I never had any parcel details and I was not the sender. Really disappointing customer service. Avoid if you can.

Lovely people in the Altrincham store, but seems almost impossible to get an appointment. The opening times on google are wrong and they don't let you leave a message or confirm their opening times when you call. Don't even bother with the online ordering system. Delays of many many months, and then the order is cancelled anyway. Not fit for purpose. I don't know why buying uniform is now so difficult with this Monkhouse monopoly in place.

Very poor level of service which can only be explained by the monopoly on school uniforms that the company enjoys. Late orders, staff who don't care and don't know anything about the products they sell, telephone calls are never answered and emails which are ignored. It's time that the schools concerned did something about this and allowed other retailers to compete. Monkhouses appear to be incapable of delivering the goods in any sense.

I ordered some uniforms on 24th August, and up to mid Oct, there are no uniforms, no update, no apologies - a total shamble! As they do not reply emails, phone line was cut off, so I went to the store in Sept to check my order progress. I was told they were in warehouse, but after 2-3 weeks, they were still not shipped to the store in Altrincham, so I cancelled the whole £124 order. Luckily, I can buy similar Sixth form uniforms on highstreet, but for those who have no other options due to Monkhouse's monopoly, parents should make a complaint directly to each school's headteacher, and demand the school to offer more supplier choices, or simply change uniforms to where you can buy from highstreet, instead of Monkhouse. Monkhouse uniform prices are a totally rip off, customer service is non existent. They are not one of the worst retailers, but SIMPLY THE WORST!!

Very poor. Ordered 23rd August, and as of writing still waiting for uniform from them (October!). Customer service non-existent - they've stopped answering phones and emails now. Absolute shambles but they have you over a barrel if they're your school supplier. If you have to use them, proceed with caution. Hopefully the school will choose another supplier.

This has to be the worst shop in England. Their prices are extortionate, they never have the size you want in store and when you order something, it always takes at least two months to arrive. This is not something that has occurred since Covid, either. It has always been the case. At the moment, I am waiting for two cardigans which I ordered at the very start of September; I once waited two entire terms for a hat by which time the kids had moved into their other uniform (naturally, they’d already taken my money for it). They know they have a monopoly and they take full advantage of it.
