I studied here for four months, and it was incredible. I made a leap from 6.0 to 7.5 in IELTS and achieved a C1 certificate. Everything is well-organized, and the tutors are truly passionate about what they do. The staff is also very helpful. I'm incredibly grateful to Lewis Richards, Greg, Emily, Rebecca, Jane, Josh, and Charlie. The entire team is amazing, and every teacher contributed to my progress.
Moreover, LSI provides an excellent extracurricular program (Thanks, Niki!), including trips around the South of England. Leisure activities are organized flawlessly.

I studied at LSI/IH Portsmouth for a year and two months. The teachers were great, but the management was not at the same level. They may put you at a lower or higher level than your level, depending on what they have available, not according to your actual level.

I had completed a General English and 1on1 course for 8 weeks at LSI.
Here the classes were full of enthusiasm and both students and teachers were enthusiastic.
This allowed me to concentrate on learning English.
I took part in many social activities, which I really enjoyed because the teachers were friendly.
Eventually, I got confidence in speaking English.
Thanks to the amazing teachers, I had a really good time.

20 years ago in a class in LSI a guy from Middle East said “Acer is an US brand not Taiwanese” after I listed it as a Taiwanese brand. The teacher believed him not me and even said to. Japanese “ give some brands to Taiwan “.

One time I talked to the headmaster that I want to change my class to a higher level cuz current one is too easy. She said to me “ why Taiwanese are so annoying “ just because another Taiwanese talked to her the other day about the same issue.
I know some classmates from Germany changed classes too. Did she say the same thing to them？Isn’t it a sign that they can’t class students in the right level and possibly not enough advanced teachers?

I strongly suggest people choose other language schools better not this one in Portsmouth. Management and evaluation of teacher quality seem loose to me. Some cItizens are racists too. My home mom didn’t dare to speak to me when I said hi to her in the street. Drunk man yelled to me “ go back to your own country “, and a classmate from Middle East stabbed by a guy in weekend night.

London is more tolerant to foreigners.

I spent here few months and it was the best experience ever. The teachers were amazing and really friendly. The social program was awesome. I could meet guys from all world. All people at the school are kind and lovely, you can really feel like at home. LSI is a family and I can say Portsmouth is my second home...
And after 2 months at the school I started talking in English with my mum... without thinking...
If you really want to learn English and enjoy the English life, this is the perfect place 😃

I spent 3 months in Portsmouth in 2015 and I was staying in a shared house. It was an amazing experience, probably one of the best time of my life!
The school is very professional and the level of teaching always adapted to every student. Except one person, everybody passed the exam in my class, thanks to our two CAE teachers. It is also much fun to study there. The social program is great and various activities are organized every week.
I have met people from all around the world and I still have contact with some of them. The shared house was also awesome and I had so much fun with my flatmates. I would definitely go again! Thanks LSI, and thanks to all the people who made my experience unforgettable!
