Saw an ad for an online course. Signed up, completed the online course. Was told I needed to book an exam. This was over two weeks ago. Since then, no replies to my emails, calls to the tutor’s number go direct to voicemail, and calls to the number on the LSDN website ring for a while before disconnecting. It’s as if they no longer exist.

Railway teachers have a ego problem, they are aggressive and confrontational. They breach data protection by discussing students drug test result openly and make fun of the ones thats failed the test.
Unprofessional and not disability friendly.
Overall if you don't mind rude and egotistical people go train with these cowboys who only care about funding not individual learning needs.

They care a lot about their students, and give you lots of help as support. They are a bit officious with their protocols, but it helps them appear professional.

I really need to edit this highly misleading appraisal. Basically, this is a cowboy outfit that have procured government money on the basis of training people to work on the railway. Firstly, the have no affiliation to Network Rail, even though they try to act associated. On essays they make you write, you have to say 'the organisation' so that it's not implied that Network Rail are a part of this shoddy outfit. The mock track that we did our practical at was a joke just a load of stones and iron bars, yet one of the trainers -supposedly an experienced track man turned up to this embarrassment of a site in brand new uniform, as if he was taking part in something serious.
Lastly, they tell you you'll be reimbursed costs if boots they make you buy, and travel costs. I've been onto them for months, and the excuses keep coming, each time the last in the phone being nice and saying she'll sort it, so sorry blah blah blah!
They're a suckering outfit, taking advantage of people in a vulnerable position, workwise.

ive been at lsdn for18 weeks,enrolled in a railway course.when you finish the course,sponsers are invited from london underground,tramway and network rail. all the staff there are great. if you have problems with some of the work,they always help you.If you have a personal problem,they try to help you sort it out.The staff are very polite and considerate.If you want a career in the railway go to lsdn,and they will help you to achieve your ambitions

Highly recommend anybody who wants to join the railway industry. I have achieved alot from this place I've passed all my exams and now looking to get a job on the railway without LSDN I wouldn't know where I would be right now all the staff are warm and helpful from lsdn student Ravi.
