During my studies, I found that LJMU and Unicaf do not accommodate any changes to your payment plan, even when life circumstances change. This rigidity forces you to stick to the payment plan regardless of your current needs.
For example, if you choose the 12-month plan, you are required to pay a monthly service fee of £30 and an additional technology fee £90 per module (3 modules). This is included in your total cost and adds up to £630 in service fees over the year. Even if you decide to pay off your 3 modules cost in 6 months to reduce service fee costs, you will still be charged for the full 12 months of service fees. The institution does not provide clear or valid reasons for this inflexibility.
In today’s era—characterized by rapid advancements in robotics, machine learning, IoT, AI, and big data—it is surprising that such a modern institution remains so inflexible with its payment options. This approach can be seen as a form of financial bullying, where students are forced to adhere to a payment model that does not adapt to their changing life circumstances.
I hope this review helps prospective students understand the potential financial pitfalls and inflexibility of the payment plan before they commit. Lastly, I have received responses from LJMU to validate my claims.

Difficult University to deal with compared to the others within the city, I’ve been a student as well as worked as a Third Party for the University. They’re money orientated first and helping students second, in an alarming way I’d say.

It’s no secret this University is seen as the second best, but from experience I’d more describe it as a Poor Man’s University of Liverpool and LJMU lacks the ability to be personable like Hope University too so I just found you get a sub-par experience in both an departments (Education and Student Support).

From my experience/listening to the lecturers complaints it’s often the system and way LJMU operates that burns people out (Staff, Students and Lecturers alike). With from I’ve experienced and seen the IT department being the most difficult.

If you want a University who doesn’t value you outside of your financial contribution come here, if you want to just be able to live the student life and turn around feeling you wasted University come here.

If you want a decent University and experience, don’t come here.

They do not care about the students at all (they will pretend they do but they do not). They just wanna make money out of you. Avoid it. Some of the student help services are very useless. Filled with people who just make money from students and do not want to do anything for them. All of the students who are thingking of going to this uni, don't. You derserve way better.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this university at all costs.
Extremely disappointed with the admissions process. It felt disorganized and lacked transparency, leaving me questioning their professionalism.

Paid £50 for a replacement certificate as I’d lost mine due to a house move. This was one of 18 certificates I had to reorder so as you can imagine at £50 a go I’d spent a small fortune with various awarding bodies. Only JMU out of the 17 other places I’d purchased replacement certs from require a document completed requesting a new certificate to be witnessed and signed for by a solicitor which obviously charges a fee as well. For a 3 month course I think this is absolutely ridiculous when all other 17 just required the fees including degrees and post graduate degrees and quals!

One of the best universities that offer Masters in Data Science. Good experience with Upgrad. As a working professional, focusing on industry usecases in masters and expert guidance helped not only in academics, but also in leveling up on problem solving with discipline.

Awful uni, don’t go!! Was excited to study here but god knows why. The ‘student union’ that they claim to have is non existent and they do nothing to bring students together. If you don’t get on with your flatmates, you’ll end up lonely so unless you like being on your own I wouldn’t recommend. There is no sense of community at this university and all the buildings are far too spread out. The accommodation also does nothing to bring people together so once again, you’ll end up alone. The student well-being team are not supportive and neither are the accommodation team. Contact hours are so low that you might as well not be studying. Go to a different university, I can’t imagine anywhere being much worse than this.

Feel honour to be a part of this wonderful University through UpGrad. Bachelors and Masters qualification programs are being offered here with learn through highly qualified professors. Best learning experience. One of the great facilities are provided to students on and off campus. Online learning platform is great and intuitive. One of the best University in the UK. Highly recommended to those who want to study in UK.
