The Itchen Toll Bridge is a convenient and vital link connecting Woolston and Southampton city centre. It's well-maintained and offers a smooth driving experience, with clear signage making navigation easy. The views from the bridge, especially at sunrise or sunset, are stunning, providing a picturesque glimpse of the River Itchen and the surrounding areas.
The toll system is straightforward, and the fee is reasonable for such a key route. However, during peak hours, traffic can build up slightly, which is something to keep in mind.
Overall, the Itchen Toll Bridge is a great asset to Southampton’s transport network and worth a drive for its scenic beauty and functionality.

After making a delivery in an area of Southampton I keyed in the address in the SatNav of my next delivery .. it brought me over the bridge .. there are no signs before to advise of the cost or of an alternative route .. once committed there is no turning around or diverting ... £40 for an HGV ... How do they justify this .. most other toll bridges in the country ended tolls and of the couple still charging even the newest most modern most expensive charge less than half that ... Once bitten twice shy I won't make that mistake again

For anyone travelling through Southampton, this is a toll bridge taking you from east of city over Itchen bridge to the centre of town. If you do not want to pay toll alternative is Northam bridge further up river.

They said they’d scrap the toll charge once the bridge had paid for itself, according to Wikipedia, the bridge paid for itself in 2016. So why exactly are we still paying for the bridge? Oh yes… more money for the council, that’s why! Maybe use this money to sort out the potholes around Southampton if you’re going to charge people for a bridge that has already paid for itself?
Update: So now they’ve put the price up from £1 to £1.20. Beyond a joke. Hey, they probably saw my review and put it up on purpose!

What a RIP off!! No signs to say prices or alternative route if not wanting to pay and use the bridge, just a price board at the toll on the otherside, then Robbing HGV's at £40 a crossing

There are no warning signs until it is too late and you're already at the barriers. Absolutely disgusting that they ambush you and expect you to pay.
