Such a bad college 0/10!! They were expecting me to do some life skills course that was not my thing as I didn't get in to my current course, had a meeting at my secondary school, the teacher that came from the college was in the meeting. I felt very uncomfortable how she was pressuring me to do the course which I did not want to participate and was stressing me out alot. I would describe her as tall, red hair, etc. Don't even go there if your future wants to be ruined!!

Staff are friendly however there have been issues which have required a high level of police presence and facilities in certain areas are rather lacking. Some students are discontented as they say that in the technology centre there is only one toilet for women which female staff also have to use whereas there are two male toilets and a separate male staff toilet. These conditions have been reported on several occasions and little to nothing has been done to remedy the situation. They originally tried assigning a small disabled toilet to female learners however the condition of the toilet was not up to standard and has since been locked. This collage prides itself on inclusivity yet can't even provide suitable conditions for its female learners.

I was hesitant in applying to learn my GCSE's. As a mature student (54) with neuro diverse logic. I was overwhelmed at the amount of support in place for me. The tutors are so welcoming and friendly.
The building for the access level is separate to the 16-19 yp's. Zero intimidation.
There's a kitchenette for your use. A relaxed atmosphere and a multitude of resources.
I'm really sad to be leaving and I'm looking forward to Uni next year. The support of all the tutors have made this possible.
The education system has a lot to offer neuro diverse students and every step is guided from the careers department to welfare and pastoral.
Additional learner support (assessed).
I can't recommend Hopwood Hall college enough.

Fantastic historical building. Even in its somewhat neglected state it is still very beautiful and impressive. Shame there's no access and it's surrounded by a big fence, but it's for its own protection so it's understandable. Hopefully it can be restored soon and allow visitors to look around at this amazing old hall. Still worth a visit and look through the fence as there's some nice woodland around it to stroll through.

A good experience with friendly and welcoming and the students had been polite and helpful when we need guidance getting around the different parts of the building. Site is clean, appropriate, and great for those wishing to become a mature student. Plenty of parking facilities too. Room we had been in had been rather warm with no air-conditioning or windows open and with over 50 people in the room this certainly had been a risk in terms of covid19.

Three generations of Hopwoods tried to see the family home this week . Oddly, we weren’t even offered to stop by during volunteer hours which are publicly posted as being held currently on Tuesday and Thursday. We didn’t want a tour- we just wanted to see it from the right side of the 15 foot fence. Instead, we were told we couldn’t see anything and needed to sign up for a future events list.

My mother (born Mary Hopwood) is very elderly and can barely walk, and frankly I am quite sure this means that - for the duration of her lifetime - she will have peeked through a 2.5 inch slit in a fence at her own family home.

I am thrilled that the family estate is being restored. But frankly I am embarrassed and disgusted if this is how one is a “friend” to
Hopwood hall.
