Hertford is an amazing college: tight-knit community, cozy spaces and the most central location in the town. Also, all the staff is so friendly and helpful.

Had a formal dinner here. They served us lots of food, which is good, but when I tentatively asked a manager if they could offer a container to take some food away and avoid waste, he told me absolutely no cuz if I eat takeaway food and get sick, I will come to them and ask them to take full responsibility. Hey, you can just say no…Why judge me like this…

Known for its iconic bridge, the Bridge of Sighs. The first Hertford College began in the 1280s as Hart Hall and became a college in 1740 but was dissolved in 1816. In 1820, the site was taken over by Magdalen Hall, which had emerged around 1490 on a site adjacent to Magdalen College. In 1874, Magdalen Hall was incorporated as a college, reviving the name Hertford College. In 1974, Hertford was part of the first group of all-male Oxford colleges to admit women.

During summerbreak this college offered English courses, and we've been coming back year after year. This college had the most amazing teachers from all over England, Ireland and Wales, who helped us with grammar, culture and plain growing. We've stayed both in families nearby as in the college itself, and both experiences were amazing and worth repeating!
