They took on a bunch of students when they didn't have the room making them look rather unprofessional and forcing studentsto move to different classrooms and buildings. They had a bunch of supply teachers to cover as they didn'tprepare teachers ready for the year., they allow bullying to go on with no real punishment. Same with distribution to lesson and breaking of the law.
Coach system is almost great though the drivers are super nice

I am writing to you regarding my daughter, who has been unfairly dismissed multiple times with shameful excuses. They claimed they couldn’t assist her and once even told us that we are responsible for her transportation, at our own expense. After a year, a kind staff member at the council helped us, and they finally agreed, though reluctantly, to allow her to continue her studies. My daughter worked hard and earned a passing grade with distinction.

However, this year, on the day of her educational plan meeting, we were shocked when she was once again dismissed, with the excuse that it was "for her own good" and that she would fail. They decided, mid-year, that she would fail and told us she could only study math and English. Two days later, the same discriminatory staff member called to inform us that she couldn’t even study math or English at the same college. She claimed to have consulted with the department head.

They have destroyed my daughter’s educational and psychological future, taking advantage of the lack of oversight from the college administration. Who will restore my daughter's rights?

As someone who just did my 2 years here and got my A levels, i can safely say i had an absolute blast here and would recommend it to literally anybody. The people here are what i enjoyed most about it, ill definitely miss going here.

Unfortunately most of the time people only leave a review if they had a bad experience but from my personal experience, pretty much everyone i knew had a great time here. Would highly recommend.

From what everyone has told me it sounds horrible. I’m glad I didn’t get signed up for this place.

Rhiannon Luckins is the worst student support manager for the business department. She has her favourite students and likes to pick on certain individuals. Pauline Mullin did not mark my assignment for 8 months !! After multiple students told Sarah Scott - head of business they did not give a flying damn. I done the work to distinction standard for 3 assignments and she ended up giving me a pass after 8 months. When i told her this she said ā€œIt’s too much marking for her and she has no timeā€ This is absolutely disgusting ruining someone education. On the other hand, Darcie Dixon is the most clueless person. For unit 4 she gave me 2 distinctions and one 1 merit. She gave me a second attempt to improve the merit to a distinction in which i glad fully took. After having improved the merit to distinction, she didn’t even both marking it, giving me an overall merit for that unit. For unit 24 she also gave me a pass because she couldn’t find my work despite doing it to distinction. In my second yr on the course we have not been given a unit 5 teacher for over 8 months. Instead we have been given a clueless supply teachers who didn’t even mark the work. Year on year this college is going down the hill. They continuously like to over enrol students making the experience terrible. The canteen is so busy so there’s no point going there on break, coaches always are late and sometimes never even come, the teachers do not care about the students grades on the btec courses. As of this my grades are not what i wanted and now i can’t go to the uni i wanted to go to. I genuinely recommend you do not go to this college if you want to have a good future. Don’t be fooled by their campaigns such as free coach service, autism proud, high pass rate etc. Because once you attend here you will realise it’s all a lie and they just say it to fill their numbers up and cover up the real experience at the college. DO NOT COME HERE!!

As a former student, don't go here.

As I and others have seen here, they do not offer any standard of mental health support, or support for individuals with disabilities.

The content on many courses here are several years out of date and some of the information taught is completely incorrect.

The majority of the tutors will not help with work for any kind of reason, mostly because they are "busy" yet still have time to have a small unrelated chat with others.

Overall, an academically draining experience.

Went to this college for a few months and was treated horribly by the staff. There is absolutely no support in place for students with mental disabilities and mental illnesses. I do not recommend going to the college if you have a hidden disability and or suffer with your mental health.

If I could do -5 stars I would. Halesowen college is an absolutely awful college, especially for people who suffer with their mental health and/or have a hidden disability. The support system is horrendous and the lecturers do not make it any easier. Do not send your child to this college even for the EHE course. The lecturers blatantly lie and you won’t ever be believed against them as ā€œthey’re professionals and have no reason to give out misleading informationā€ which is in fact false. I’ve been at this college less than 6 months due to struggling in mainstream school and it’s barely any better. The amount of incidents with lecturers that have been ā€œunder investigationā€ is ridiculous and the investigations never seem to go anywhere other than ā€œit must have been a misunderstandingā€ and the student getting the blame and a level 1 warning EVEN with voice recording evidence you just get told to delete it because it’s illegal which actually it isn’t and they won’t listen to it because they don’t want to hear that you’re right and the lecturers are in the wrong. They don’t provide work on coloured paper for dyslexic students unless it’s a test or exam. You don’t get a 10 minute break between 2 hour lessons anymore which I think for children with asd, adhd etc is a joke when most of them can’t sit still for that long. Horrible place.
