I reached out to Gundog Bootcamp in the hope they could help with my 4 year old working cocker spaniel, where I was struggling with recall and chasing of deer/birds.

David has taught me many techniques to encourage my dog to stay close, providing the confidence I needed taking her to different places with many distractions. Together we’ve made great progress, even holding a session at Petworth House (deer park) training her to remain calm and not approach them.  This is still work in progress but we are heading in the right direction.

Over the training period she has vastly improved in recall, her attention to my commands and remaining close when out on walks. I am continuing to attend weekly 1:1 training to reinforce the right behaviour.

I would highly recommend David for his knowledge, patience and support throughout which has given me so much insight into my dog’s behaviour and provided the skills and confidence to use everyday. Thank you!

I took Paddy my 15-month-old Cocker Spaniel to David as he was pulling on the lead and barked at other dogs on a walk. After the first session, David got him walking on a loose lead!!!

I have just completed 5 sessions with David and Paddy is coming on great.

I would fully recommend David to anyone who wants their dog trained up. I have just signed up for another 5 weeks, as I have seen a vast improvement in Paddy.

A massive thank you to both Dave Hughes and Dave Bazen. I am currently coming up to a year now since starting training with my 18 month old black lab Nova. We are now approaching our first shoot day of the season in which myself and Nova are more than ready for but I would have not been able to do so without the help of Gundog Boot Camp. They are extremely friendly people, if anyone out there is looking to get into training their dog and not just for shooting purposes but all round training, I would very highly recommend Gundog boot camp!

Currently in training with our first working cocker spaniel who is a year old , has been transformed since coming to David.
David has a lot of understanding, patience with Bertie who throughly enjoys his time.
It’s a great space and beautiful surroundings for this type of training.
He Has made Bertie a better dog and definitely me a better handler.
Making our walks much more enjoyable.

We took our “testing” 15mth old black Labrador to David for 6 sessions. With plenty of homework to consolidate, we’ve seen a marked improvement in her sit, recall and (not) jumping up. In particular her focus on us when other dogs, cyclists and walkers are near has come on leaps and bounds. We’re really pleased that we now have the confidence to walk her off-lead rather than being dragged around. A great ‘bootcamp’ to get her started with good behaviours.

I would highly recommend David and GDBC. Barney has throughly enjoyed watching me get trained up so that I can handle him effectively. He is turning into a well behaved, lovely dog and the one to one training has been absolutely invaluable for both of us

David has been a godsend to us (myself and Sully). I came to david, not knowing much about dog training or how to handle a dog. Sully is my first puppy (Working line Labrador).

With regular sessions, i've learnt so much and have become more confindent handling my puppy. I've learnt basic obedience and gun dog training to prepare him for the shoots in the future.

Hes been really helpful with sullys little issues and showing me what to do on how to correct.

I've learnt so much with david, i can't recommend him enough. Hes always been there when he said he would be.

Sully is starting to shape into a good dog now, all from david teaching me on what to do!

Brilliant training with Dave (Bazen) helping us with our young rescue Setter learning obedience, recall, retrieving and heal work.

Dave is a brilliant tutor, with his lovely Lab Spud demonstrating things perfectly so you can see exactly what you’re working towards.

Highly recommend, I personally think this is the best training around, in a lovely location too!
