Stunning pub, so tranquil & welcoming.
1st date night in a year not being Mum & Dad.
Our waitress was Holly M, she was attentive, polite, friendly & always had a smile on her face which made our evening amazing so Thankyou for that.
If every server was like her, we would be extremely happy customers.
Most certainly recommend & will be back to visit soon.

My son and I have had a wonderful evening meal tonight. We both had steak - they were cooked to absolute perfection (cooked by Chef Jake). I find at other restaurants my steak is not perfectly cooked, but that was not the case tonight. Superb food Jake.
Our Waiter/Manager (Joe) was attentive, efficient and his customer service was excellent. We felt at ease and looked after.
Well done on the food, ambience and customer care.
Waiter (Taylor), although we could see he was constantly serving food on this very, very busy evening, he always had a smile on his face and again, like Joe, very attentive.
Definitely returning customers. Well done to you all 🙌

Wonderful Atmosphere but Disappointing Food

The ambiance of the pub is truly delightful, and the drinks were absolutely delicious. However, the food fell short of expectations.

I enjoyed the beef croquettes and the truffle chips, but unfortunately, the burger and brownie were quite underwhelming. The burger tasted like a store-bought ready-made product, and the preparation, including the sauce, lacked finesse. The brownie appeared to be frozen and reheated, which was disappointing. The ice cream was like a basic, cheap one. My friend tried the pie and was also disappointed.

I would suggest sourcing higher-quality ingredients and employing skilled chefs to elevate the dining experience. It's a pity, as I had high hopes for this visit and made a considerable effort, driving in snowy conditions for 30 minutes, to enjoy what I hoped would be a memorable meal.

The roast was wonderful, good portions however I would’ve appreciated some more rosemary/sage on the meat. The meat itself was cookes wonderfully, just lacking slightly in the flavour profile for myself. We also got a side of cauliflower cheese which I found to be quite delicous.

The star of the show for me was the apple tart, absolutely divine! The ice cream was beautiful, base of the tart was a delightful texture and the thinly sliced apples covered in that toffee sauce was decadent!

Not 100% sure I’d go for a roast again but I would defo come here for a dessert and wine night ☺️ and the menu had a lot of option so next time I may go for a pasta dish!
