This is the London office of Egress Software and is on the 12th floor of the White Collar Factory, 1 Old Street Yard. They are experts in secure (encrypted) Email and File transfer as well as related tools supporting top quality email transmission and reception, guarding against spam and phishing. Their software also makes use of machine learning.

Egress is also known to be supportive of the broader UK public sector cyber security community, by attending, helping and getting involved in many events, ideas and conferences over an extended period of time.

Having visited their office today, I was impressed by the views of South, East and West London, and even more by the sheer number of awards and trophies they have won and proudly display.

NO support, platform useless for 4 months and still no solution
We used the platform for more than 3 years. During this period several periods of server side problems. We had to detect that some functonalities of the platform stopped functioning suddenly. Luckily we could solve it oursellves. The last issu however: the platform stopped working in august. During months we waited for them tot solve the server side problem. The confirmed every time they were working on it on highest priority. 4 (!) months later they came with an update that would solve the problem an restore the funcitonalities we were using daily: the update did not help anything. So, for months now our platform is down. We can not send any mail to our referring dentist. Our company dammage is significant. We quit the platform . DO NOT USE IT. This company has created the worst email system ever. Utterly pointless and even fails at the unnecessary security it claims to provide - My wife can forward the ".switch" file to me, and I can open it with zero security checks whatsover. I am lost as to the process - there is no logic. I receive an email in MS Outlook to tell me I have an email in egress which I then have to load in egress's software to view. I am unable to search my Outlook for egress emails, and then all egress emails are automatically deleted from the system after 60 days so I lose all history. I will never deal with another company that uses egress, I will refuse point blank to deal with them - it really is that simple - Utter hate and contempt is an understatement for this terrible, pointless software.

While Egress software for medical applications works, after a fashion, in my experience as a software engineer (early in my career) and later a teacher of decision sciences in British universities, I recognise the mind-set behind its design. It is the most over-specified and user-unfriendly piece of security software that I've ever come across.

If I find it problematic, with my own tech experience and a PhD in mathematical sciences, then I fear for how some elderly patients or their carers, who are likely to be less-highly trained, will find dealing with Egress software at a time when they may already be highly stressed.

This software needs to be shown the egress!

I was forced to use their service by Cafcass, unfortunately two months later I found out that they dont keep your messages and there is no way of retrieving them even though it is information that one has to take at the court. I exchanged few mails with their customer service and obviously they could not do anything as their system is designed this way. Finally I called to speak to them as it all sounded super ridiculous only to spend 30min on the phone with some "polite people" and I just found out they charged me £7 for that call. Another example of a company under the governments protection that does nothing and charges people who are forced to use their service for that.
