I am surprised by the huge amount of negativity here! The college is only as good for you, as you are willing to learn. Perhaps some people have the problem with their own attitude to life/duties and ability to function in the society? (The best visualisation of the problems was the sign "do not eat or drink inside" on the toilets)

Teacher (yes, Pete - I'm talking about you ) was very professional at all times and approachable, with good understanding that we are already working, have kids and some even are looking at elderly relatives with fractured bones! Friendly, honest gentleman with the hair of the R290 copper pipe colour (sorry - I could not stop myself 😉

Workshop God: Eric - I know he has shown to us EVERYTHING what the College had best to offer: pipe freezer, pressfit. Some things are not in the plumbing curriculum (e.g. pressing the plastic - so it is hard to epect the impossible). Eric really tried to help us to master complicated offsets and passovers

We were given the opportunity to practice and to master virtually everything plumbing related, I have found those activities fascinating and it was a real pleasure to attend the classes! (Where else I could waste so much expensive copper and solder, and I have wasted a mile of that!) Friendly banter, good food at canteen (albeit pricey!)

Bad bits - yes, there were very few.

Merger with other colleges to create SHCG was a half baked rubbish at best. Out of the blue, somewhere in the 2024 we have lost access to the electronic portfolio. For three weeks we had no badges and anyone could come on the premises and steal such a brilliant minds as my own.

Food in canteen is somewhat pricey, but the choice of hot meals was great.

Toilets are generally dirty, but if fellow students use it as a dining rooms, conference space and impromptu sparring octagons, then don't expect too much.

Classrooms were cold in winter. I have complained about it and got the timely response from the Principal. College has sorted out the issue, so is quite responsive.

College offers ZERO follow up courses/pathways. I still need to be empowered by the laws of WRAS, I want to do my G3 ticket, maybe add something related P certification and F-gas. Nothing has been offered, so my money will go elsewhere.. sorry.

Overall, on top of my strong technical background and self employment for years, I will remember BPEC Peter Bevis plumbing class @Eastleigh College very warmly.

Cheerio!

Enjoying my L3 course, great experience so far. I especially love the learning hub!

The course itself was helpful and added knowledge to a field I wanted some more information on; however luckily I was able to navigate it all by myself as the communication from my tutor was poor. The course is comprised of four units and I had completed and submitted 3 of them (and was one week away from submitting the fourth) before I received any feedback on the previous submissions - and I only received that because I complained.

Then after complaining about the lack of communication, and having my work speedily reviewed - I didn't hear another word for 6 months when I was mistakenly emailed about a course I was not even partaking in - and I managed to chase up receiving proof of my qualification through that member of staff.

I have now received a digital version of my qualification and will be leaving it at that. I won't be using Eastleigh College as an online study option again.

Honestly, the course I did here was pretty good, I've learned a lot from it and my tutor was really helpful throughout the entire thing, but the rest of the staff were not so helpful. We had little to no communication about anything over the 2 years, barely knowing when the start of each term was. And the safeguarding team is a joke also. They prevented me doing the perfect work experience due to a tiny little detail that was out of my control, and it wouldn't even affect me at all! It's been nothing but self sabotage on the college's part for the 2 years. Please consider if the lack of administration competence is worth tolerating before enrolling, I would have been better off elsewhere. I would like to thank Dom and Trevor for their time teaching us, but no thanks to the other staff (other than the I.T team who were brilliant)

Also, just attempted to sign out today and they couldn't even do that yet for some ambiguous reason, they suggested we come back later in the week but that is definitely not happening. Goodbye Eastleigh College, and good riddance!

I’ve just left eastleigh college and was there for 3 years. The tutors are completely unprofessional and would comment on the students they didn’t like to other students making it a very uncomfortable, playground like experience. There is a lot of favouritism between tutors and students, making it very unfair for the other students. If you have any mental health issues I highly recommend that you avoid this college at all costs. Mental health isn’t taken seriously and all they care about is whether you have attended your lessons. Now I would say this is just a personal experience but I’ve spoken to at least 5 other people who have also agreed the college is appalling.

Eastleigh college

Stop telling your students across the college every college is the same as Eastleigh college It
really isn't. (you're trying to keep students onto your course)

I wasn't enjoying Eastleigh college. I then moved colleges and now I am having the time of my life and much more freedom.

Seriously majority of colleges are different.

Eastleigh College are also not friendly on EHCP students on main courses (won't provide the support) while other colleges do provide that support.

Aswell you still got my Information stored on your system after I kindly request to delete my data under data protection act 2015.

**Get your act together or I will genuinely sue this college last warning!!**

Aswell moving away from Eastleigh college to another college I know fully well how colleges operate now and I know 100% you're twisting / breaking the law.

--TO ANY CONCERNED PARENTS/Students--

Outside Eastleigh college there is a bus stop where service C7/C17 to Brockenhurst college a much better college I would suggest looking into that college as I'm much happier there and since there a bus outside this embrassing place just use the bus to brock college

I am an older apprentice in foundation accounting. It was all very daunting going back to college and completely changing my career, but the people at Eastleigh college made this very easy. My tutor is particularly encouraging and will always explain over again with patience or give me more work to consolidate my learning. Her support is amazing. My work place tutor is also extremely encouraging and positive in her outlook and support of me. I very much enjoy being at college and studying with a wide range of ages . I feel very empowered and supported by my class members and particularly by my tutor Emma.

This place is embarrassing I had to create an alternative e mail so I’m not disciplined by the college or booted out, the head lecturer for my course has done nothing but lie lie and insult student intelligence. Our class started off as 13 kids but now almost a year later 2 kids dropped out one gets away with whatever they want and there are only 4 of us on track to gain a diploma with our lecturers supportive advice “ you’re the only people that have any chance of gaining this diploma everyone else will fail” so yeah, glad I’m not coming back
