If you want to stand around for ages only to be told to order online this is the shop for you. Lost count how many times this has happened and feel a total idiot every time I go in to fall for the same trap.

I think 10/12 years ago is the last time I went in there and actually came out with what I wanted

I paid £450 for an iPad for it not to come, 2 weeks before Christmas, a ghost order apparently they take your money and nothing arrives. As it's Christmas still waiting for the money to go back on my card, so we had no Christmas present as they was enjoying theirs.

Father in law needed a new TV so went to currys to check them out. Plenty of choice, but not all in stock to take away. Cannot listen to them as no remotes any more, only QR code to give limited control with fixed volume. Staff were helpful but as frustrated as we were trying to override this limitation. When we decided to buy we were told no staff now available for 15min. Rang the local Sony dealer whilst we were in Currys. They had TV in stock at the same price to take away, so it was quicker to go there and buy it with a dealer 5 year warranty and install it same day rather than wait for Currys to home deliver it at a cost.

Unfortunately you can't speak to a local store on the phone. The customer service tells me stores have no stock of certain items but in store they do. The sizes on line are not correct which I could check in store If I knew where had stock.

All of this could be solved if I could simply call a shop and talk to a person.

But no, why have that simple solution when you can have convoluted phone system that relies on not having any errors or unforseen circumstances.

And those things never happen do they...

Went to buy a monitor. Nice selection on show is not huge but ok.
I turned two on so I could see the picture and had to root around the boxes below to read the specs of the 3 that had boxes under the shelf as only the price was displayed.
Looked around for help and it was like looking for snowflakes in June. so I went outside to get my phone to Google the models.
Lost interest so I ordered a monitor from Ebuyer. That was a good shopping experience.

Should have gone to Currys in Skegness as they know how to do customer service.

Absolutely shocking service!!!
Did we "want to join a queue? (to be served presumably?) yet their were CLEARLY more staff than customers!!!
On asking an "Al Murray lookalike" who was with about four other sales people (all doing nothing) as to whether or not a JVC television had adjustable feet which was crucial as we were taking it down to London from Grimsby for our son. He only has a bedside cabinet sized unit to stand it on and is limited in space to where it can be placed.
The salesman said "I don't think so" despite there being two sets of holes drilled to the same dimensions to the existing litted legs. He never offered to find out and when I said politely I had to know that fact as I didn't want to buy but it without knowing that fact for sure as we would be taking it down to London as a gift. "No worries" was the flippant and totally disinterested reply.
It would have taken about 30 seconds tops with aid of a tiny screwdriver (surely they have one behind the scenes?). Nah. Didn't even ask a colleague. Talk about going the extra mile...don't make me laugh!!
GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PLEASE SUNSHINE WITH YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! It's not as though you were rushed off your feet.

It turns out the salesman in question was actually the store manager!!!! It beggars belief!!

Purchased an Apple Watch for the wife for Xmas guy who sold it was great I informed him I wasn’t sure of the size of strap required he informed me as long as the device is not switched on we could get an exchange size of strap was wrong took it back to the store to be informed that we cannot do that and because the packaging was opened we cannot do that and to either purchase a strap from Apple or go on Amazon shocking customer service

Bought a Samsung watch for £264, tried to return it a couple of days after and they won't accept it because I opened the box. It was never used. The return policy is absolutely shocking. Will never buy from Currys again.

Go up
