Course is nice enough. Greens are improving but still not to standard. Food is good.

Facilities are limited, no driving range, no chipping area, limited putting area, no halfway house, limited buggies and the pathways are below a reasonable standard.
The bar is like a setting from the 60s and has limited opening times, the pro shop opens after you have teed and is late with course instructions. The balcony in summer however is lovely if you can ignore the Basil Fawlty like unwelcoming atmosphere.

A top 100 club. We played after a very wet week in November 2022 and the course was in good shape. There are some very beautiful and dramatic holes. Few phone cameras will ever do justice to some of the spectacular views. As a course it is interesting and engaging and its 6000 yards will feel very much longer. Great pro shop. Nice bar and a beautiful club house. Our society was very well looked after by the staff. If you get a chance to order the steak and ale pies do not pass them up.

Had a Christmas lunch here with a large group having previously selected our courses. The service was swift but I was disappointed with my main course as the roast potatoes and pigs in blankets were undercooked and anaemic looking. There was also only the tiniest portion of green vegetables. The dessert of spiced dried fruit with vanilla ice-cream was very tasty though. To finish there was coffee and mince pies. The latter were not home-cooked had very thick pastry and didn't taste buttery and were underfilled. Consequently I thought two courses for over £30 did not represent good value.

Very welcoming to roaming golfers for pay play. Others members very pleasant and jolly.

Coarse was very challenging with some long holes often obscured with many obstacles to avoid. Take some spare balls for good measure.

Not a hilly layout but not flat a good blend. Greens all in perfect condition. Signage sometimes lacking so look further for the wayfinding and it’s a little intuitive. Check the layout before you go.

Challenging course, ready to catch the unprepared with some unforgiving heather

The best countryside views. The Beacon is the highest hill for miles and the views over the south of England are amazing. Helpful staff, traditional values, great club.

My wife attended an Open event with friends at Crowborough recently. The course was in great condition and very challenging. Regrettably the catering was also challenging. Under-cooked chicken was left uneaten so they ordered cake to make up for it. Unfortunately this was found to be very dry, appearing to be stale. The front of house staff member was very understanding and offered an alternative. Whilst waiting for this, a woman appeared in a chef’s apron, bawled out “who complained about the cake” across the whole balcony and then berated my wife’s group for complaining, saying that the cake was “freshly made”. This very unprofessional outburst spoiled their day.
