Joining Manchester Codes was easily one of the best decisions I've ever made. As I've got friends working in the industry I was always interested in tech, but never thought I'd have the capability to learn JavaScript myself.

Having finished the course with a working React Native game that I made myself (along with my other team mates) I now have a new-found confidence in myself. Making something useful from scratch is one of the most satisfying feelings and I can't wait to get stuck into more projects!

The tutors are incredibly supportive and encouraging, and provided guidance at all hours to the whole cohort. What's more, I have made friends with a fantastic group of people so I am super grateful to have been offered a place on the course.

I really didn't think I'd be able to complete the entire course! Joe and the team were incredibly patient and consistently supportive. They aren't in this to make huge millions, they want to make real impact and transfer their knowledge and skills to others.

We were learning the most up to date best practices and most importantly, I felt that the space was incredibly inclusive and diverse allowing me to feel comfortable.

Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn alongside another position.

This review is far overdue. I took the course back in September 2020 and what a game-changer it was. It was a completely different field to what I had been in before, but I felt the course and material at Manchester Codes gave me a well-rounded introduction and then some into the tech industry. The tutors were passionate about their field and were always available and quick to respond to any questions or queries during the lectures or via Slack. I really enjoyed that the course was part-time as it enabled me to continue working throughout. This does mean you will have a lot less free personal time during the course, but as it is only 6 months, this was a very fair trade-off. I also greatly appreciated the careers advice/help that they offered - my CV has never looked better and they were always willing to lend a hand/offer any advice. I received a job offer just before finishing the course and have been working there happily ever since.

Really enjoyed the Manchester Codes bootcamp, it was the only option I could find in Manchester for a part-time course, and it did not disappoint! The pace was perfect to learn, but also challenging enough to keep you engaged, and the tutors really care about making sure you understand the material. They also focus on what you will need to know to get a job or work in a technical role, so you don't feel like you are just learning theory, but also how you would apply it in real life! Some of the tutors in specific are amazing - Nick, Whitney, Joe as examples give some much time and care. Would highly recommend, but make sure you commit, otherwise you can fall behind easily and it's hard to catch up.

At the start of 2020 I decided to learn to code with Manchester Codes. The part-time aspect was really helpful as it allowed me to carry on working full-time around my studies.

The course material is very challenging but the step-by-step approach meant it was never to difficult to fully understand the subject. I would definitely recommend committing an extra 14 hours at least on top of the 6 hours of classroom (virtual for my cohort) study to keep on top of the work.

Since Graduating in October Manchester Codes have continued to support me in my attempt to begin a career as a Software Developer with interview prep, CV and cover letter reviews. Their constant support has now helped me gain my first role in tech as a Junior Software Engineer.

I would definitely recommend Manchester Codes to anyone who is looking to learn to code!

I learnt so much in this course. As a career changer i wanted to learn full stack software development, get hands on experience and become career ready. This course helped me to achieve that. I am currently working as a junior software developer.

This course helped me to be prepare for work in the industry. I got experience in all parts of software development lifecycle. I got support with my CV and interview which helped me to land my first role. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone who is a career changer like myself or a career starter or looking to update their knowledge with the latest tech in software development.

Important tips for new starters:
- Make sure you read your course materials including the extra bits,
- Prepare your questions before online classes (the teachers are very good with answering your questions and giving real life examples),
- Learn how to research software issues (this course will teach you how to approach errors, what steps to take, hugely important in career)
- Finally make sure you enrol!

Joining Manchester Codes was probably the best decision I've ever made, coming from the travel industry I never thought it would be possible to change careers in such a short period of time.

Specially during a world pandemic it was hard to believe I could be able to land my first role within the industry but thanks to the Manchester Codes community and a lot of commitment and dedication I secured my first role within 3 months after the course was finished.

I would definitely recommend Manchester Codes to anyone looking to learn a new skill or even changing careers because the support you receive from tutors is crucial and some of them even followed similar paths so they definitely know what they are doing!

I highly recommend Manchester Codes for anyone considering a career change!

The course material is well put together, teaching you all you need to build fully functioning apps using a modern tech stack. I found that as well as learning to code I was learning how to learn - you learn how to quickly pick up a new tool or framework for a project as you would in the real world of work.

Biggest highlights for me have been the Slack community (including loads of wonderful ex-students who are always happy to chat before you enrol), and excellent careers support. Even though I was job-hunting in a different part of the UK I didn't feel disadvantaged as the careers prep is relevant for jobs anywhere, and there are also plenty of roles posted on the jobs board with multiple locations around the UK.
