This is an honest review of the Pros & Cons of anyone who is considering living at CODE Coventry. Pros 1. Very nice Study spaces & Common Room (with pool table & table tennis) 2. Well Equipped Gym though weights only go up to 22kg for dumbbells 3. Events are organized very well - Halloween Party was a standout highlight 4. Staff are friendly & Security is 24/7 so there are never safety issues 5. Good accommodation to make friends if you are new to Coventry, CODE hosts multiple meet & greets. Cons 1. BILLS INCLUDED ARE NOT UNLIMITED BILLS. You have an energy allowance of £720 if you get bills included for the duration of your time here. This is the biggest issue with the accommodation. So many tenants complain that the cap is too little. You will receive emails telling you to turn off every switch in your room, and you will have to be limited with the amount of energy you use; otherwise, you will have to PAY MORE. (check the email below that I received) 2. The Cinema Room DOES NOT WORK, when asking for access to it, they say there is no remote so it can't be turned on. 3. The TVs in the common room haven't been on. 4. Damaged sofas in some rooms have been replaced with Comodo chairs instead (so check your room before going) 5. If your room is on the 2nd to 5th floor, ASK TO SEE IT FIRST, the view may be above the courtyard which means someone can look from outside, into your room 6. They will take the majority of your deposit by claiming any minor damages (So take pictures of everything that is damaged in your room in your first week) 7. Laundry room is operated by Circuit Laundry so a wash & a dry is £5.40 Overall If you are willing to pay premium for a nice accommodation then CODE is for you, but other accommodation options are equally as nice and may be cheaper. PS: All the recent 5-star reviews are because CODE runs a Christmas competition where you enter by providing the accommodation with a 5-star review :)

A very bad and rude apartment!!!!!I found a tenant by myself, deducted a deposit of 400 pounds and a week's rent, and then inexplicably calculated the electricity bill for me, 50% in January and 118% in February. What check-out fee was deducted from me, that is to say, when I successfully sublet, I found the tenant by myself. 1,021.31 pounds were deducted!!!!!! It's simply shameless!!!! The indiscriminate deduction of fees is very obvious. In addition, I have been travelling abroad from December to January. Where is the electricity bill generated? When I came back from the trip, I found that the wardrobe was damaged, and I immediately got a warranty. After a month, no one repaired it, and I was deducted more than 100 pounds! The next tenant said that no one repaired the wardrobe and stove at all. Why did he deduct my money? The sofa here is also broken. The things in the apartment are broken. No one will repair it. In addition, it is very noisy under construction next to the apartment. Don't choose this hellish apartment. You will be grateful to me. Because this apartment is really bad. You can spend the same money to enjoy better service from other Apartment. !!!!!!!!! This apartment will organise a lot of activities because their expenses are deducted from the tenant's deposit at will.!!!!The five-star praises you see are all because they let students evaluate them to get the opportunities or benefits of some activities.

Be careful with Code accommodation, the rooms and furniture are different from the photos online, see photos of the advertisements versus reality. Avoid paying for the upgrade to a deluxe studio which was advertised on one part of their website and in all photos to have a sofa. If you complain they shake it off and have now changed the wording from the attached screenshot of their website to hide their misinformation.

Been really impressed by CODE thus far! Has everything you could want in a student accommodation. Within a 5 minute walk you have multiple (good) options for groceries, restaurants, bars, and more. Moreover, on the bottom floor of the building there is an ever-convenient Co-Op, a Pizza Hut, and a Starbucks. You're also 1 min from Pool Meadow which is super convenient - can be on campus within 25 minutes of leaving your room. When returning from campus in the evening, Code has its own stop literally 10m outside the front door which is again very convenient. Found the gym to be great - good machines, rarely crowded, etc. Honestly have not used the common areas much but they're also nice. Also worth noting that I doubted how a single laundry room could possibly have capacity for so many apartments, but am yet to have any issues with having to wait for a machine to become free. The staff are also great and have been very attentive whenever I've had questions. Parcel service is super useful. Security have also been massively impressive; e.g. I called about a noise complaint and someone was upstairs shutting things down within 5 minutes (at The Oaks it took hours, and on campus they just don't show up...). Finally - you have a great view. It's a nice place to work, with ample desk space and a nice monitor. Being up high also tends to be a bit quieter. It may not have the excessive bells and whistles of Vita, but for £200pw CODE delivers everything you could possibly want out of a student accommodation and does so at a consistently impressive standard.

I moved into my room about 2.5 weeks ago and I’ve had quite a few issues with my room. Firstly, I paid extra to book the deluxe studio as it was advertised that it comes with a sofa, but instead I was given a dirty armchair with mysterious white stains. I had to ask multiple times for it to be cleaned since it was something that should’ve been done before I moved in which was frustrating especially since I should’ve been given a clean sofa to begin with! I also reported 2 weeks ago that my TV was broken and again had to report it multiple times (I am still waiting for a new one to be replaced). The mattress has definitely been used for way too long since there’s a huge dip on one side and metal pokes into my back when I’m sleeping. My oven also started smoking loads when I first turned it on so I had to ask them to deep clean it since it wasn’t cleaned before I moved in. In summary, I did not get what was advertised and what I paid for, and the overall cleanliness of the room was not good. I’m quite disappointed with how everything has been handled and annoyed that I spent extra for a deluxe room just to be given below the bare minimum.

Living at CODE has been an incredible experience! The staff are friendly and always helpful, creating a supportive community. The facilities are clean, and well-maintained. The location is ideal, with everything I need close by, from transport links to shops. CODE truly prioritises student comfort and well-being, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly!

Code is a great place to stay if you don’t want to share your living space but also would like the interact with other students in the communal spaces. You get the privacy but also social time with events etc. Great staff, great views and the rooms are very spacious. I’ll be living hear next year also :)
