Fantastic caves. The self guided tour is fantastic and very informative. The children liked counting all the gems and watching the projections which were really clever. We visited in the summer holidays and it was surprisingly quiet. The little cafe was also good value with plenty of seating.

A great afternoon out with loads of really interesting history! My two young girls loved it, lots of little additions to keep them interested throughout. We visited on a wet Friday in half-term so didn't explore much outside the caves but there's a nicely little play area for when it is dry. Well worth the money! The café also onsite is brilliant but does get busy. Looking forward to visiting again in the summer!

We had a wonderful and informative time at the caves. It was cold and dark and wonderfully atmospheric, yet well laid out, lit, and full of useful information boards.
Our favourite bits were the prehistoric creature projections over the water, which were beautiful and seemed really real. The kids were alternately entranced and terrified by the idea that kids their age in the past had to work in the caves.
There is a good gift shop and a fun play area, and a cafe though we did not go on this visit.

We, although a little scared , being women in a dark cave, we absolutely loved it. We got to see everything and really get a feel for what it was like all those years ago. We also liked the clips of video showing shadows of the men working and also sea creatures in the depth of the water. Really great 👍 little snack in the cafe and brought some lovely bits from the shop.
Staff were lovely and friendly too

What a great place, I was trying to visit for a while now , and finally today, due to the weather wasne very good in the morning, it was a great place to visit on rainy days. Place is self guided which we liked we could spend as much time we want to. It's my much bigger then we was expecting, the person who set up the lights done amazing job . The stuff at the ticket office and gift shop super nice , coffee shop absolutely great decor was amazing we had fresh prepared sandwiches very tasty but definitely must try is hot caramel apple with cinnamon sprinkle have no idea what it was juice or tea but it was absolutely delicious 😋

We had a great trip here on a drizzly day. Not too expensive to visit. There's a self-guided tour through the caves which takes about an hour. There's a 'spot the gems' activity for children which begins in the caves themselves, not the museum bit (as far as we could tell). Our children (KS1 stage) enjoyed exploring the caves and looking at some of the machinery but didn't engage well with the museum.

Went yesterday with 6 year old grandson to see The Very Hungry Polar Bear. It was amazing! The amount of time and effort that had gone into this display was incredible. The caves were filled with beautifully decorated trees and lovely decorations as you followed the story around the caves.
Will definitely be back next year!
