I attended Central Film School for a month and was extremely disappointed with the services provided. The school promised access to a full class of students, but I ended up being alone in the course! Once I told the school director that I had been scammed regarding my course and that I required my money back, she refused to pay me back!!! I ended up having to pay back an £18,000 loan for the last 4 years for a school I didn’t even attend.To this day, I can’t believe I have been a victim of this fraud.This is pretty ironic for a course that was entitled ‘Social Impact’... I would not recommend this school to anyone and urge others to avoid it at all costs.

Outstanding film school. What better place to learn about film other than CFS. This school is not only for degree programmes such as screen writing, acting and film making. It also runs short courses such as summer film camp. This school will allow you to explore your curiosity and creativity.

I found Central Film School in 2021 when looking for places to attend for my MA. I chose CFS due to their focous on practical work and accelerated program.

I had a chance to work on many different roles - in and outside University - and explore what was best suited for me. I ended up specializing Production and feel well equipt to go into the real world with what I learned at CFS.

It's difficult to know where to start with this review..

My background

I'm a 41 year old recently ex IT professional with no prior film making experience but a keen interest in photography.

I found the school via a google search and was apprehensive about committing a reasonable amount of money on a one month course.

By day 3, my fears had gone. If the course had ended at that point, I wouldn't have felt short changed at all. From that point on, things just got better and better. Despite the timetabled hours (1000-1700 daily) this course IS intense and we spent many hours outside of these working towards making our short film.

The quality of the other students on your "team" also helps, and in this respect, I think I got very lucky indeed. We became like a family very quickly, you have to. There is no time for ego and emotion, you have to get along and get on with it else you will fail.

The school staff were very supportive and encouraged us to learn (and to fail) in a controlled and supported environment. It really felt as though I was working on a film as a job for a month rather than being trained.

In summary, for the money and experience gained there is no better course that I am aware of.
I came along with the intention of learning how to use a camera and how to edit, but ended up getting totally sucked in by the entire film making process and will now go on to work with fellow students to make some more shorts.

I have almost completed my 1 year intensive diploma in screenwriting at C.F.S. I have been incredibly fortunate to spend the last year training as a professional writer. Starting the course thinking I knew a lot about screenwriting, I quickly realised what I had been missing out on without the expert guidance and tuition provided at Central Film School.

The course stands out above all others because it was designed to deal with, and prepare us for the contemporary industry. To have working professionals in the industry come and impart their knowledge is also invaluable, as it takes the school's tuition beyond the text book and into the real world of filmmaking.

I highly recommend you consider a course at Central Film School. You'll not regret it.

Great facilities at the new Clapham / Brixton location, I was impressed with the studio space and screening room. The campus is in such a wonderful building, which is easily accessed from a number of stations.
