I wouldn't recommend this college. My son started here 12 months ago and has now left to study elsewhere where he is much happier. If you have struggled with your mental health or academic studies, then this is not the place for you. We fought tirelessly for the college to support our son who was struggling due to his anxiety which was increased during lockdown. Their idea of support was constantly sending emails to tell us and him he was not achieving well as well as posting these negative comments on his student profile for him to read weekly.
He is now at a different college where the tutors are brilliant and he is thriving.
What a shame Carmel let him down.

Do NOT let your child go to this college.

Unless they’re in the top 3% in their subjects and don’t need any kind of support, they will get completely left to the wayside and outright ignored by their teachers.

Your child will be overworked and burnt out by the end of their first year with the amount of completely unnecessary work they’re given, all while being treated like they’re back in the beginning of secondary school.

Send your child to any other college. The environment at this college is shocking and borderline abusive, on open days or parents’ meetings they will paint a perfect picture but in class rooms it’s a completely different story.

I studied at Carmel College for my A-Levels and adored it. The staff are amazing, the courses are great and the students are all kind and friendly. I enjoyed it so much that I am currently studying the UAL Art Foundation Diploma at the college. 10/10 would 100% recommend to any students who are thinking of studying here.

"I want to give you a zero but thats not possible"lol. If anyone's is thinking of taking biology in this college.... ✨RUNNN!✨I'd honestly rather pull out my nails one by one then take biology in Carmel again. Nevermind asking for help from the bio teachers, you'd be lucky if they didn't make you want to GET help, they are the most unsupportive, berating, and utterly disgusting at how the students are treated.

On the plus side, the chemistry department here is BLISS. they're the most caring teachers I've met, especially if you are falling behind they'll give you more support. They're are the type of teachers that make you love a subject you usually hate.

Overall if you wanna take biology... Don't! I'm not sure about the other subjects here since there are a few good departments like chemistry.

Went here a few years ago. Loved it. Best time of my education life. Not far from the town centre and good choice of local shops around the college area. Hard work yes but lots of support from staff and they help you achieve what you deserve!!

Bad, bad, bad. My cousins started to study there for 3 months then moved due to how much pressure they were under and that teachers are so bad at explaining the topics to help them learn.
