Brilliant school.
My middle Son Jamie attended and was part of the class 2024. I can't fault this school in shape or form. If my family needed help they would help. They have great teachers and Mr Kearns is a brilliant principle for the school. He says it how it is and that's how I like it, no sugar coating or lying like other schools do.
If I could rate this school higher I would.

Carew Manor

Carew Manor is a beautiful building in Beddington Park that has been a place I have walked past all my life. I used to live close to Beddington Park from when I was 6 years old to age 15. I visited Beddington Park alot even before that.
I can remember the lovely big pine cones that use to fall off the trees in Carew Manor's grounds as a child.

Carew Manor has lots of Tudor History. It is where Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn arranged secret meetings.

Carew Manor School known as Carew Academy is a special academy for pupils aged 7-18 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including complex needs.

Had some good years at Carew. The teaching staff were helpful and supportive most of the time. Some of the teachers were strict, but fair. My favourite teacher when I was in year 8 & 9 was Mr Alexi. He made teaching fun, and made the students laugh too. I remember Mr Smille was not the smiliest of teachers lol, and had a resemblance to the comedian Harry Hill.

The food was okay… depending who was doing the cooking on the day.
Overall, I enjoyed most of my time at Carew and made a few good friendships and left with some good memories.

Was a great school but, at some stages, some work aspects were hard to understand. But, they had a few great lunchtime clubs. Art was one of my weakest subjects at the time.
Music classes were fantastic.

TA's were very helpful. But, not enough has been done to sort out my past anxiety.

English classes were fantastic. Math Classes were ok. But the problem was Why did Ofsted replace some of the good teachers/TA's?

Lovely school but when it comes to education, the children are treated as they are not capable of doing things that children in mainstream schools are capable of.
More weightage is given to extra curricular activities rather than education.
The children are given simple education which is way below their level. No boundaries are pushed. This makes their progress to the outer world harder. I would say it is more like a creche for grown up children. Nothing more, nothing less.

Our son moved to Carew in 2015 from a mainstream setting and it is the best thing we ever did for him. He has achieved things we didn't think he could and is so happy at the school. We've always found the staff to be positive and encouraging. Any time we've had any queries they have always been dealt with promptly and professionally. We find that our son fully understands what is expected of him, and that there will be a consequence to any actions he may make, but that he is always treated fairly and with respect. The staff have always been welcoming and make time to discuss any issues we might need to raise. Our son is certainly being helped to achieve his full potential here.
