I worked for six years at this college, and am surprised at the negative reviews here. The teachers and other staff with whom I worked were highly-dedicated and effective, genuinely caring about their students and their results. Maybe people who have a positive experience are less likely to post reviews, and the firework complaint is hardly representative of the place.
There are two college institutions on the site - the 6th Form Centre and the Centre for Applied Science. I wonder if some reviews are from ex-students of the latter, appearing under this centre's name.
I agree that the canteen food could do with improvement, and would have liked to see more love for the outdoor public spaces.
The place was safe and professional - it wasn't perfect, but it was very good if you turned up and worked hard. I worked with students who went on to Cambridge, SOAS, LAMDA and many other excellent higher education providers.

[Update] Thanks for your response to my 1st review. I had an even worst experience. You don't follow your own complaints policy and won't even acknowledge complaints. That too after 2 stages of complaint process exhausted. School is deliberately not responding to my emails. You must be referred to the education department. Students don't get justice at your school to cover-up mistakes made by your school.

A level results day, you can't reach out to any of the teachers for support, guidance, even to share the joy or sadness as they're all out of office. Brilliant! Just that one day drained all the respect we had for them.

On 18/10/24 at 1pm I was walking on the road along with dozens of schoolchildren when one of your students caused 3 explosions in the school yard. There were white sparks so probably fireworks however, many people ran up shaking asking if a shooting happened. All the small children became upset and some started crying.

Control your students. I know you accept anyone off the street but please raise your standards this is getting bad.

I don’t recommend this as a current a level student. It is hard to socialise and make friends and the college environment and space doesn’t support this. Enrichment clubs are not very good either, after all the hype they get. Some subject teachers are ok and interested in the subject but most of them seemed overworked/stressed and don’t seem to care if a student is struggling. You do get more freedom but this is given so much that you can feel like nobody is there to support you. Not to mention the canteen food that is unhealthy. I regret coming here.

This college is a waste of time do not bother applying. I have been kicked off my college course due to attendance being 83% in October and was told if I complete a business and employability course I will be able to complete the second year , however now I’ve finished they have told me the course no longer exists and have given me no extra support bearing in mind I have an EHCP plan . So basically just waisted two years of my life

I have no problem with the teacher at this college. I had bad experience from the office. She made me like I needed help from the mental health. If you have Europe qualifications don't wast your time to ask for anything. Research your self and apply for universities online. They will contact you. Don't wast at this college.

I initially joined in year 12 to sit my A-Levels. I was doing Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. However, due to my health my attendance dropped and I was unable to sit my first year exams. Instead of supporting me or allowing me to restart by paying, I was sent to their Holloway campus to do B-TEC. I offered to pay to resit the year at Angel but they declined and I had to go to a completely different school altogether.

The timetables were also a mess. They made me start at 9am on most days and would give me three hour breaks followed by a lesson at 14:45 which would end at 16:15. It was especially difficult in winter as I would finish college just as rush hour started and would get home at around 18:00 only to redo the whole thing again the next day. It would have been much better if my lessons were more early on in the day.

Staff don’t even know each other and it’s quite pointless to call reception to make inquiries as they don’t even know who half the teachers are.

I am very disappointed to be writing this because I initially loved my time here but they have been extremely unforgiving despite my circumstances being out of my control.
