Honestly I thought Cambridge Regional College (Cambridge) was bad but this place is absolutely awful.
I encountered younger students at Cambridge regional College (Cambridge) who have more drive, optimism and professionalism and the willingness to learn and keep on improving compared to the young adults/adult students at Huntingdon Regional College. They are not the same.
I wonât even pretend the students here have a chance because they really donât and explains why Huntingdon Regional College emerged with Cambridge Regional College to survive.
It should have died.
Cambridge tryâs to compete with Long/Hills road in Cambridge, Huntingdon Regional College tryâs to compete with a local prison.
The teachers and people who run Huntingdon Regional College, seem to want to complicate even the most simple things you can imagine because there is nothing else to do.
I find this is a huge theme in Huntingdon which Iâve never experienced anywhere before there is no sense of urgency or professionalism and out of all the places Iâve been I will say they are extremely slow and I believe it is due to them being under qualified respectively in there fields which leads back to the education system and Job sector in Huntingdon being extremely poor. (Especially marketed as a âbusiness townâ) I think they have taken a lot away from Peterborough.
All over the UK mentions short staffed⌠but here in Huntingdon it is due to the high expectations this place expects for what it actually offers. I understand why the upcoming teens/young adults humour themselves with banter and outlandish things they may be reported and land them in trouble here but I personally canât and will not blame them this place doesnât teach them to be better and help them it makes them worse.
You may find a teacher like this here and there at other establishments I.e long road or hills road etc and it is their environment that holds up its value amongst its students and teachers and other things that never let it fall to the levels of Huntingdon regional college.
It is the opposite here, everyoneâs more or less like that and you find a few hidden gems with teachers as letâs be honest the only reason you would go here is because these courses you come here to do arenât at a Long/Hills road or anywhere else local or you may have been extremely unlucky with your grades.
The environment alone makes it very hard for students to want to be motivated and happy to do a course there. Teachers are extremely slow and sometimes very backwards and rough/rude in and outside the class which is a power trip, some vibes and from what Iâve seen is some teachers maybe even most seem to hate kids/children/teens and even young adults.
The only students Iâve seen that have been treated with genuine respect and Care consistently are the students who are disabled or have special needs which is good but not good enough for everyone else.
The few teachers I met here that are outstanding, this âCollegeâ doesnât deserve them. They over work them to the bone and play on their nice nature and are almost punished for giving students hope and confidence within themselves and the subjects they are doing thatâs why you probably wonât see them working there long and the awful teachers that do can not get a job away from there.
Ofsted need to come back and reassess the situation and not give them âGoodâ because they feel sorry for Huntingdon. They need to shut the place down until theyâre ready to offer and provide the public with a decent service.
The rest of the âpositiveâ reviews arenât critical enough for the students really trying to do something with their lives who need the support and guidance at any point in life which is a huge shame.
Huntingdon as a whole needs to do better as Iâve seen far too many business close down permanently within less than a year and services are casually offering less than The bare minimum as days go by but are trying to overcharge..
this place will not survive if nothing changes and will become the new benefit street.
Thanks for reading my review.

Came to this college to do child care thinking that it would be a good experience and all the teachers would be nice and understanding because it's a course about children and what they need. The head of the level two course not only didn't care about anything good that I did but she also swore and me, it's been over 3 months and she spoke to me privately about and and still DIDN'T apologise safe to say I never want to come back here. They need to sort out their priorities.

I went there for 3 years they were really nice but didn't do anything about bullying. I now want to do online classes for my maths but they won't do any, only face to face and that won't work for me. They are not helpful at all.

The staff here are very disrespectful and do not care about helping you or helping you get a job. They never smile at me and talk to me in a mean manner and are very bossy and rush you constantly. They are just unacceptable and THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN PERMANENTLY. They also threatened my Life. They also trick others into thinking they are friendly when theyâre absolutely not!!!

It has been a total nightmare. Two of our staff did a 1 year apprenticeship which finished in Jan 2016. We have been told they passed the courses but we still cant get the certificates. It is a total nightmare. We have spent hours on the phone and many emails but still nothing. What is the point in doing a course with no certificate at the end to prove you did it or passed. Totally wrong. We are now making a Formal Complaint to the Government Funding Body. The worst thing is no one cares, they just pass the buck and do nothing. What sort of college is this? We will never use them again.

Awful experience. Did a level 3 management with this college which I finished in 2016. I still have not received a certificate or any acknowledgement that I did the course. What is the point in spending a year doing a course if I can not prove that I have done it. I have called and emailed multiple times but no one will help me they just say it's someone else's fault. Waste of a year of my life. Terrible customer service. Would never use this college again. I am putting in a formal complaint.

I personally loved coming to the college I had no problems. However they're supposed to support students who are disabled yet my friend has been kicked out so many times because he missed a load of days because he was physically unable to attend because he was in that much pain! Absolutely ridiculous

They don't even deserve one star, the worst college I ever had the misfortune to attend in 40+ years. The IT course I attended was being run by a lecturer who didn't actually have the qualification the course was leading to. Total waste of money, almost weekly people were dropping out because it was so useless and they wouldn't refund my fees for the parts of the course I had prepaid.
