Probably the worst school I've come across yet for violence. Poor senior leadership enables this to continue and constantly brushed under the carpet by rewarding violent kids with a day or two off school and them considering it a job done. Bad experience with one of the SENCOs who was, to not put too mild a point on it, completely and utterly incompetent. There are others worthy of note who are much better, so not all bad I guess.
There is a failure to protect students in this school from harm. You'd think with a clear pattern of violence more preventative measures would be put in place but they think their duty of care starts and ends with a pathetic suspension.
I don't recommend the school at all, avoid.

Constant fights in the queues. Food taste like complete plastic, nothing really that fresh as they said it would be. Prices of all meals kept on rising year by year. Teaching wise, good quality although had to do some independent studying to achieve a pass grade in most of the subjects in gcse. However, love the music festivals and acts that the school hosts time to time and the rewards you can receive, it was satisfactory would recommend joining only if you wish to deal with constant yapping of teachers outside of class or lesson switchover.

Located in the heart of the bustling slums, bristpl met is a beacon of despair rather than hope. The facilities are dilapidated, with classrooms resembling more of a battleground than a place of learning. The teachers, often underpaid and overworked, lack the enthusiasm and resources to inspire their students. The curriculum is outdated, failing to prepare students for the challenges of the modern world.

The school lacks basic amenities such as clean water and functioning toilets, posing a health risk to its students. Violence and bullying are rampant, making it an unsafe environment for children to thrive. Despite efforts to improve, the administration seems apathetic to the plight of its students, leaving them to fend for themselves in an unforgiving environment.

Overall, bristol met fails to provide the quality education and nurturing environment that every child deserves. It stands as a stark reminder of the systemic inequalities that plague our society, where those born into poverty are denied even the most basic opportunities for a better future.

One of the worst schools to deal with any issues. Never a teacher around to talk too. More like a detention centre concentrates way to much on uniform,hair and nails than education. The effort they put into that is wasted and doesn't go on education. Pupils are not allowed their own identity. The way toilets are mixed is disgusting girls sharing with boys with urine on the seats no privacy what so ever girls told of for going two to a toilet but having to hold doors shut from boys and stopping them taking photos under the cubical. Never been so appalled some of the teachers attitude is awful. Glad my daughter only has one year left there. Definitely do not send your child to the MET. Extremely biased teachers singling out pupils and constantly picking on them when there's over 100 other with hair dyes and wrong uniform.

People make it seem like a detention centre in the reviews. It is just a school. It has a uniform policy- like all schools. Some teachers are nice some are not. That is pretty much it. Also when I was bullied head of house handled it very well.

Everything I am today, I owe to this school. I entered a young, feeble child, and left a man capable of taking on the world. The lunch lines encouraged competition and combat between students. Just like the real world, It was first to the paninis*. These battles inspired me to go the gym and bench year 7s, and I now have a 24 pack. I loved taking mocks, during which teachers not only condoned chatter, but actually encouraged cheating. This trained me for the real world in which nothing is fair and cheaters win. *One star revoked for nomenclature of sandwiches: Panino = singular Panini = plural. Another star revoked because WHY DID YOU GET RID OF RADNOR FIZZ!!!1!!!!?1!?!?!?!?

The management treat the school like a business and students like a product to perfect. All so they can sell their "product" making skills to parents and the school funding system so they get more students that generate more money.

Yes they did not create the system.

However, they conform to it so rigidly that students who cannot cope with the mental sacrifices it takes to be moulded into their product will be and have been mentally crushed.

There were some individual teachers that went above their job to support students. To name a few: Mr Hoggett, Mrs Vince and Mr Price (the religious studies teacher involved with enterprise house.)

As a previous student with good grades I could see how the school management system and some teachers treated me differently to people who didn't get good enough grades for their liking and that was only because of the harmful sacrifices I made to keep up.

Managements support of mental health only extends as far as it needs to so they can look good to prospective parents (with the exception of the people mentioned above and a few others.)

Students with ADHD and/or any mental health difficulties(or previously undiagnosed adhd like me) that couldn't or didn't mask were constantly berated at and given detention for highly menial things because if you didn't conform to victorian style behaviour rules you were labelled as less than.

This is because it is too tricky to mould us into the product they want to display.

Thus resulting in a perpetual cycle of students who thought they weren't good enough regardless of what they do so they gave up or used harmful coping mechanisms to keep up.

One of the regular supply teachers use a dog toy to get our attention and all complaints about this were ignored.

If it wasn't for the teachers I have mentioned this review would be 1*.

Not great experience with this school . If a school administration cannot make school as a place of interest of their pupils, it’s a primary failure of school administration. Bullying is common complaint in this school and is not taken seriously. Bullying at a school is like zero of maths which makes all qualities of a school to zero as students cannot stay in a school with bullying.
I think this admin needs to work more to stop bullying before a disaster happens. I will complain to Council if they don’t take serous action.
