Beware this is a scam.
A state funded scam you are required to save pages before you lose access to them and then later informed how to save the pages you no longer have to access with a YouTube video with the relevant information happening off screen after agreeing that failing to complete the course will cost you extra,
I was looking forward to doing this and with all the other scams and cons no one can do anything about I'm not sure if I can afford to live in the country I was born in

Have recently completed 'Level 2 Certificate in Creating a Business Start-Up' which was a government funded distance learning course. I found the BTC learning platform to be very good and appreciated the very detailed feedback from tutor David Wilson after submitting each unit. You can tell he's passionate and knowledgeable about both the subject matter and teaching in general.

The staff are horrible to students who have mental health issues and if your someone struggling with your mental for example you have depression or your a self-harmer then the staff will tell you to just get over it. They will refuse you therapy or counselling and they will call you horrible names and treat you horribly.

When you are on campus, they will expect you to put your education above all else, including your own mental health, and any important obligations that you have outside of college for example, if you are a young mother taking regular classes at this college and you need to leave in the middle of a lesson due to an emergency relating to your child, then the staff will shout at you and tell you that while you are on campus, you are not a mother, you are not a daughter, you’re nothing but a student and your first priority is your education, nothing else.

This college dehumanises people, it makes its students think that it’s not okay to have emotions that we should save our tears for the pillow and we have no right to feel the way that we feel. I spent seven years at this college, and not once did I feel like a real person they tried to turn me into a heartless robot instead of helping me to deal with my emotions in a good and healthy way, they taught me how to bottle up my emotions and how to ignore them until it got to the point that I didn’t know how to deal with my emotions in a proper healthy way.

If you are someone who suffers from self-harm, I highly suggest that you do not apply to Bridgwater and Taunton College because they will just insist that you deal with it at home. They will treat you like an animal and will not offer you help or guidance, they will make you feel worse about yourself and I will do everything today, possibly can to ensure that you fail.

Bridgewater and Taunton College does not care about it students the staff are beyond horrible and heartless. It is not a good or healthy place for people to go. If you spend any time at Bridgewater and Taunton College, you will leave with lots of trauma from the horrible and inhuman way that the staff treat you.

I truly feel that this college should be shut down due to the horrible way in which the staff deal with the students and due to the way that they do not care about basic human rights or human well-being.

I would not recommend my son was on a 2 year apprenticeship with remote learning and only had a handful of lessons.Initially they had technical problems which went on for months before any learning started. Also never visited his place of work although kept saying they would.
He finished his course early as his employer offered him a job . I informed the college never had a reply.
Shocking

Lv2 electrical installation- Construction and Civil engineering is a absolute shambles of a sector. Started the course one year ago, fully paid out of my own pocket. Been through 5 lectures, the whole year constant no shows for classes and excuses as to why people aren’t turning up for their job. Further to the complete incompetence by the head of departments for not actually reaching into the funding pocket and bringing someone in up to the job for the rest of the year or sooner. And when they finally find someone fit for the job 6 weeks to the end of the course/exams he’s gone as well. Out of the whole class one kid had sense to leave in the first two weeks and two gents who’s company paid for it couldn’t handle the stress and hassle and pulled out month in.
Honestly if you’re thinking of taking your child to this college, save yourself the hassle and put them in an apprenticeship, ideally not though this college, go through Yeovil/wells; especially any trades electrician, plumber, chippy. I don’t want anyone else making the mistake i have.

Edit: a year and a half on this course has still not been completed, the dedication and days/afternoons I have lost to this course has been a complete waste of time. The scrapped together course structure to scramble something that resembles a final was rejected for every student. And clearly the head of faculty couldn’t hack the job as he has since also quit. Seriously don’t waste you time at this college / organisation.

Update: It now been 2 years since the course started Jan 2022. The final paperwork has been sent off nearly 4 months since the course finished and still haven’t received my certification, which in result screwed me over for joining another college for my lv3. And not can’t join that college for 1.5 years.
Can’t emphasise how much to avoid this college

Absolutely unbelievable my grandson has additional needs and has an ECHP we were told he would be well supported at college. After a year we were told it wasn't the place for him . I was told measured would be put in place for him to carry on with his education. That was in March 22 it's now September and nothing despite dozens of emails and false promises.
Staff seem to be constantly changing and the principal unreachable.

Very thankful for the opportunity to do an administration course with this college. They were very supportive throughout the whole time, as I had a newborn and they were understanding of some missed deadlines.
