I’m a year 9 at this school and I have to say this new year school system is horrible.
Lunch lines are so long you have to wait your whole lunch, and then get a late from your lessons for eating.
A lot of the teachers are rude and biased towards students
And we get a 2 hour detention if we are more then 15 minutes late to a lesson? Please do better Babington, there’s a reason teachers don’t want to work here.

I am a year 9 student who attends this hell on earth (there is no better way of describing this school). Although it is said to be a school the environment doesn't give off the potential energy a school should offer children.

I've been here for roughly three years and I always brushed off the uneasy feeling I had, always convinced myself that I haven't adapted to the new environment of a secondary school, however looking back, I realise I am not wrong.

There are fights almost every single day, each week there is a minimum of 2 fights and about 3 arguments. I have come to experience a lot of these fights and once when I was outside and there was a fight, I was trying to leave the area where the fight was happening, however, a older and heavier student bumped into me, tripped me over and was practically on top of me. Another time I tried getting away from the area a fight was happening a teacher violently shoved/pushed me and my friend out the way as if we weren't already trying to leave? Nextly I'd like to talk about how during autumn and winter seasons coats are not allowed however for whatever reasons the teachers are allowed to wear coats? It's not like the school isn't already strict on uniform but not allowing coats is actually a joke. I have a really weak immune system and get sick really easily and when I miss a week off of school cause I'm bedridden the school sends out letters and emails asking where you are cause you attendance drops down 15%. oh you thought I was done here? I'm only getting started. Back to uniform/equipment policies. If you don't turn up with one element of your uniform one day it's a straight up detention. The teachers give you detentions for the stupidest reasons and if your late or walk out of the class you get a 2 hour detention after-school, which during winter makes some children that live far from the school walk a long period of time in the cold darkness.
Now, I've been bullied in this school and reported this to several teachers which for the first week of reporting gave me hints of hope before completely cutting me off, forgetting my matter existed although I had my mom come in. The school and teachers don't care about your problems or mental health and try to cover it up with a pledge that all students must follow and obey to the rules of the school which really are simple rules implanted into society that we've already learnt. I thought year 9 would prepare me for GCSE and upcoming years however to this day I don't know when I'll be picking out my GCSEs (in a shorter term - parents aren't informed about anything) I've still got 2 years left, 3 if you count this one but I'm already happy to say that this school completely ruined my mental health and I became massively antisocial and stressed over literally everything. Thank you babington. I mean come to think of it there are supply teachers who come and go, come for a day or two to see the environment within students then go . Do better. The school is overpopulated MASSIVELY. Whenever you even attempt to go to your next lesson there are literally stampedes of students. The school is tiny with a addition mobile building made of what looks like plastic that's a quarter of the size of the school and they expect it to fit in 1500 students.

If this wasn't enough to convince you this school is bad, I don't know what will. Don't run from this school, sprint while you can.

We have only had trouble ever since my daughter joined this school, from communicating to bullying, and the school never does enough to stop it. We have spoken to many other parents who feel the same

I leave in just under 2 weeks. Great experiences made and many memories made, excellent and kind staff. Due to the pandemic many things got put back and we got loaded with tests and mock but overall, the staff was very supportive and very understanding. Some students on the other hand are a handful but the rest are caring. We have all different cultures in this school and is so easy to make friends. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone 🙂
