My son attended the 8 week course ahead of going into year 8 and he found it so so interesting and it really built his confidence in his own abilities and helped him bridge the gap in his processing abilities through typing and using the tools that are out there for him to use! He even did his practice on a campsite!

Caroline has spent years researching how technology can assist children that struggle with literacy. As a result Caroline is able to direct you to the most helpful features of the various computer platforms, and how best to use them in an age appropriate way. Without this direction there is overwhelming amount of information to try sift through. Caroline and her team are very encouraging and most importantly understand that each child is different. The touch typing course and the resources we’ve been shown will be so helpful going forward to help reduce the barriers that are there for dyslexic children.

A fantastic course for anyone wanting their child to learn to touch type - so much better than trying to motivate them to teach themselves with free online resources as the week long intensive course at the start really sets them up for success.

The real benefit for dyslexic children (and their parents) however, is the vast knowledge of the technologies available to help them, unlocked by being able to type. Caroline is a real expert in this area - drawing on her wealth of experience she is able to explain all of the resources that are out there, often already sitting on your laptop, which can be used by children to help them achieve academically.

This really was a whole summer programme - it goes way beyond just learning to touch type.

I am late writing this review as my son did Caroline's course last summer. It was fantastic, I can't recommend it enough. The structure works brilliantly - the initial week getting to grips with the correct finger positions on colour coded boards and being helped in small online forums, and then being supported to do your 20mins practice per day with weekly group progress meetings, encouraging and inspiring the kids with talks + tables to show how well they are doing compared to where they started and compared to how fast they write! Caroline also gives loads of information about technologies to help dyslexic children - which honestly is worth it's weight in gold. The tech part of the course is the juicy part and parents as well as kids should learn as much as they possibly can to help their kids going forward! Caroline is fantastic, she's dyslexic herself, she has dyslexic children (now at uni) and really knows how to empower our children to be savvy and successful at school. I hope to send my other child this next summer.

I enrolled my 11 year old son in Caroline's touch typing course over the summer holiday. She has been incredible - she keeps a constant eye on her pupils, gives encouragement and many suggestions to aid improvement. She has made herself available to give advice for much of the course's duration.
Along side the typing tuition, Caroline also gives information about technology that is freely available but incredibly helpful to dyslexics.

My 3 children took part in Achieve Now's summer course this year looking to improve their typing skills. This course provided so much more!!

They are now way faster typing than writing. They can now laugh at any mistakes they make rather than being thrown off course by perfectionism. But probably most valuable of all, Caroline has demonstrated various software and hardware (free and paid) that will enable them to keep pace with other kids. From audiobooks for my 7 year old to dictation tools and computer readers. I would never have found all of these tools myself.

Caroline is brilliant, very dedicated and completely understands how to keep everyone happy, engaged and motivated. I highly recommend this course.

Caroline was extremely helpful and professional with the new online version of her usual touch typing course. The course allowed my son to benefit from her experience and guidance from our home computer.
I was a bit concerned that it would be difficult to keep the children focused for over 3 hours every day but Caroline managed to keep them on task and motivated and they enjoyed the communication they had with her and between themselves. It was kept fun and the progress was rapidly visible. The benefits they will get from having learnt to touch type will be huge and they were all enthused by their achievements.
