First of all, the cafés are a complete rip off! I bought a Fanta drink for £3: a quarter of the cup Fanta and the rest ice. They took back the last three quarters in the Fanta bottle to serve others. Both café min and café max have an extremely overpriced menu - it's outrageous. After a number of student surveys, it has also been said that the safeguarding team do not deal with issues appropriately. They're said to be not impartial in the slightest and extremely one sided. Their 'solution' is the easiest thing for them even if it's unfair for those involved. Unfortunately my friend is one of the many people who have been a victim of this. Word of advice: drop claims made if the reasoning given for the accusation does not match what the accusation is. Student surveys also suggest the Languages Department is by far the least organised, and also very unwelcoming as if you're walking into "foreign territory". I have spoken to various female students in the language department and they say the amount they have to bring to college is absolutely ridiculous just for one lesson. In terms of the pandemic there have also been issues. Before vaccines took off and social distancing was still in place, none of it was sufficiently enforced by the college despite their fake advertising in their website showing socially distanced pupils, cutting off the crowd in their editing. In fact, there were girls LICKING each other in front of the staff & nothing happened. As you would see as soon as you enter the muddy school lane, the construction work is absolutely horrendous. The college claim they care about environmental causes and make students sit through environmental talks and yet now they have created a mud pile which covers us in dust when we are leaving the college whilst their heavily polluting vehicles drive down the school lane. They ruined a beautiful green spot which they initially advertised and promoted while my year group was in Year 11 to hook us to this college. The lane is disgusting and extremely muddy which we have to walk over & your failure traffic warden confuses people as he waves his hands around like he's flapping his wings. Surveys say many teachers are extremely negative, and when students said this they mainly referred to the science department. You get a good grade for ten assignments, do below average on one and they send you and your parents rude emails carrying false information about your progress, which is not motivating in the slightest. Parents argue that teachers should take it on themselves to help the student if they're struggling (as much as the teacher is making out) rather than spending their time undermining the student's ability. This is much a greater use of time especially considering most teachers would never respond to an email out of hours. Teachers who demand to see lanyards are extremely rude. This wouldn't be a problem if they did this politely. It is ridiculous that a temporary lanyard for a day costs £2.50 and you do not get the money back. The attitudes of the teachers could be significantly improved, many could be a lot more down to earth than they are. Lastly, I would like to point out that the school lane is more packed than the M5 with traffic queues from 7:00am to 4:30pm further contributing to the college's environmental impact. There should be another exit towards Keynsham and maybe a pathway just for students to exit college. They have shown they have the funds through the work they have been doing destroying the green space. The school buses turn the corner from Emery Road at an extremely dangerous speed, in fact two students recount the story of the college's bus that was inches from hitting them on the pavement they were walking on. They also disrupt the way students walk to leave college. If there is a separate space for smoking there should be a separate space for buses. The very poorly designed smoking area is right next to the student parking area and school lane where everybody receives second-hand smoke on a daily basis. Get it together.

This college is awful. I attended a few months of year 12. I loved my courses, however I have depression. Before enrolling the college was noted of this, and upon arrival I again informed them I am suffering. My mental health degraded quickly, and when I needed support I was offered basically nothing. There was one counselor for our entire year. That's 1 to 800 students. The support team did nothing. I had a panic attack, went to my tutor and she took me to lesson, to a point where I was crying and I couldn't breathe (I faint from panic attacks on occasion, but like i said, they don't care at all.) She then realised she had messed up and took me to the counselor... who sent me home. No check up or looking into my situation. No concern. Nothing. Since I've left, I have known of 5 people who have also left due to lack of support from the college. My boyfriend, who I live with and have supported through college was not cared for well, he suffers from bouts of anxiety, and is a young carer for me, and was not offered any support, despite us expressing to the college he was suffering.
If you have mental health issues or problems at home, with family that affect your mood, if you want to be supported, this is the last college to go to. It is purely awful.

This college is a prime example of problems that society and the education system faces. there is prejudice and discriminative undertones in a lot of the policies enforced. If you are looking for a non segregated positive learning environment st Brendan's isn't for you . a lot of the teachers are very intelligent and good at teaching but these teachers are dragged down by the senior members of staff.

It’s too difficult to get in to the library I have been kicked out for not having an “appointment” but its only because there is no other space that’s free because the few seating areas r often filled up we should be able to use the library easily and conveniently. I was very upset when I walked across the textiles corridor to get to the library where the blonde textiles teacher spoke to me in a vile manner telling me to get out, I wasn’t welcome to go through and I’m disturbing her lesson. She made more of a disruption to go out of her way to verbally attack me like this. I left in an apologetic way and she did not stop shouting at me while I was walking away. I think this would be avoided if you put a no entry sign or gave your classrooms some walls. I have never been spoken to in such a horrible way so I was really upset

Go to a smaller school sixth form if you want to study A levels. I left here after one term, so hard to make friends or make any connections with teachers because the place is so big. Also difficult to know how to get help from tutors, as they all seem to have about 8 other tutor groups.

Absolutely terrible College they only care about attendance ! They are very disorganised, the timetables were a joke.
My daughter was told she was an A* Art student. And was given A* for all her work only to be downgraded to an A
She wrote to them repeatedly for the reason for this and they just fobbed her off
Then asked if they could keep her work to inspire other students !!

I had the worst experience in my 1 year here. One of my teachers left the college and the other kept giving us free time to do whatever we wanted instead of teaching and giving us actual work to do.
