“Today, I had the privilege of visiting Uwe, and what a beautiful way to spend a Saturday! The experience was both refreshing and inspiring, reminding me of the beauty of slowing down and connecting with my surroundings. I did some dancing videos and the pictures were so photogenic.

The air felt cleaner, the scenery was breathtaking, and every moment seemed to whisper peace into my soul. Walking through nature reminded me how much we often take for granted. The stillness of the environment gave me time to reflect, recharge, and refocus on what truly matters.

It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of life, but moments like these remind me of the importance of stepping back, taking a deep breath, and soaking in the goodness of creation. There’s something special about being away from the noise, hearing the birds, and feeling connected to the earth.

As I leave Uwe today, I carry with me a renewed sense of gratitude and calm. Saturdays like this are a gift, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to experience it.

If you ever need a place to unwind and recharge, I highly recommend a visit to Uwe. Let nature speak to you—you won’t regret it.

Experience from 2014 (Warning: Trauma, racism, harassment).
I travelled to the university at the age of 17 to join the international school having high standards for this british university. The facilities looked great but once you join, you are kept in separate halls from local students, you can’t join some events as local students and have strict guidelines to follow as if you’re a risk to them.

My first week in the international halls: international students living together in halls would put rubbish in the kitchen bins which would sometimes overfill due to late collections. Student hall inspectors (who were also students, senior but locals) would come inspect our halls as part of the checks. The first time they came I was washing my hair, I heard loud banging on my door and shouting, quickly wore my shirt and didn’t have time to wear glasses, I opened the door slightly to see what was happening, these student inspectors were all shouting at me and tell me the kitchen is a mess, I thought okay I’ll go get my glasses to go and check, then closed the door and got my glasses to go and check. Once I came out they were all even madder than before, all shouting at me like in their gang. I saw the kitchen bin which was overfilled, I told them it wasn’t me who did this as I had just moved into the hall a few days ago, then they lost it and started banging on the doors of my neighbours, once came out and he also didn’t have a clue why it was so full (these students are still shouting at us in rage) while we try to explain to them it wasn’t us, they gave us a deadline saying it must be cleared by tomorrow and then proceeded to leave and probably terrorise other internationals. I saw my neighbour and anxiously smiled at him as we were both so struck by what had happened to us, they saw me smile through the window and came running to me to shout further at me telling me I shouldn’t be smiling as they feel I’m laughing at them, I was so done with their bullying that I just wanted them to leave so I can get on with washing my hair. Next morning I found a report under my door which they had submitted to UWE and took their side about my supposedly bad behaviour, they put me on a plan with a warning that I will be removed from the halls within a week if the kitchen bins were overfilled. Us internationals told our college about this harassment we had been getting and told our legal guardians as well (as we were mostly underage we needed to hire local guardians using a paid service), the international college told us they are aware of the harassment towards internationals and to let them know if it happens again, and not to panic. I saw the bully every other day working part time at our halls reception and she would not even look at me, I’m not sure what her problem was, but she had definitely traumatised 17 year old me who travelled alone to a new country hoping for a bright future and I demand the university to investigate her.

Experience in the prayer room:
Really good that the university had a multi faith prayer room, would go pray Friday prayers there. There was some bad news going around in Bristol that something had happened in a very deprived area of Bristol and the suspect was described as “Muslim”. After Friday prayers the head of the religions and multi faith prayer rooms told us if we know anything about the suspect to let him know. This was a pretty disgusting thing to say to us as obviously the racism showed to most of us, even if it was described in a very wishy washy manner.

I am unable to recall any memorable experiences at this university other than buying a gaming console and playing games alone or with some international friends I had made in our halls. I seriously hope the university and city has a more inclusive, welcoming, inviting environment for us international folk as we are whom they make the most profits off of and I am expecting them to reach out to me regarding the harassment I faced back then as I continues to haunt me today. If you are an international student please consider another place.

Dropped off my grandson as he is doing a degree here, the accommodation is clean and tidy and a really good set up, the place is vast but could do with more maps around the area, the little helpers in their vests directing us were friendly, nice and very helpful, shame about the security who seem to be up themselves, the place is sign posted well as you come off the motorway which is helpful as well!

one of the biggest scams in England. if you're thinking about coming here to get somewhere further in life save your time and money go somewhere else because you will NOT get a career out of this useless "university". all they care about is taking your money and putting you in a lifetime of debt.

Worlds worst university
As my daughter in law is studying in Master’s in business management. The course was last for 1 year and she spent her 3 years in same course as the university is failing her again and again with unnecessary reasons.
As per students the result is only 20% to 30%.
Also they are doing partiality with asians.
So guys please be careful before taking admission in such of these universities as they are spoiling the life of students. They don’t understand the value of time of a student who is studying out of their country.

Studying in UWE is great. Multi-cultural university with so many facilities like gym, restaurants, football court, basketball court.. and so on.. with a huge robotics lab + the largest solar powered building in the UK (as i heard) which is the business and law school
