I looked into getting a job at my children's school once my youngest started in reception, i had the opportunity to enrol onto the Level 3 teaching assistant course with SS&L and have recently passed with a distinction. The course is really good, you are well supported from beginning to end and with the way they are structured you get to revisit modules over the duration which helps to refresh you ready for EPA. Sarah G was my tutor, shes fabulous!!! Nothing was too much trouble and i genuinely felt cared for and supported from my (very nervous!) few sessions to when i had been in the iob for a good length of time and almost at end point.
If you want the chance to work in a school but gain a qualification at the same time i cannot recommend this course highly enough.

I started a Level 3 Teaching Assistant course at SS&L in Feb 2023. My course was set up by the lovely Laura Davey who went above and beyond for me. My tutor for the course has been Sarah Gill, honestly I could not have done it without her. If I ever needed anything extra she was always there for me. Nothing was too much trouble and I always came in to a smiley face. I have just found out that I have passed my course with a distinction and I put all of it down to Sarah! She's an absolute legend! Also I have to give a shout out to Dave Roach who helped me pass my maths, he set up extra sessions to help get me through and I'm super grateful to him. All in all SS&L have been fabulous and I'd recommend everyone to do a course with them! Thanks everyone!

Dave was amazing and he got me through my English first time. He made the lessons so much fun and I learnt so much. I can't thank him enough for all of his support and patience, especially when I was having a strop and telling him I can't do it.

I studied for my GCSE in both Maths and English and both my tutors were fantastic!

Jeremy my Maths teacher went above and beyond helping me and the entire group. He was very patient and understanding as he taught us, mature students, to become confident in Maths.

As a full time worker, I am very happy that SS&L provided the opportunity for students like me to attend online evenings sessions and for free too!

I highly recommend them to anyone who needs help with their GCSE Maths and English!

I attended a Business Level 3 course being an older person and having never attended an Apprenticeship before, once i got my head around what to do i enjoyed it. I had lots of help and support from my Tutor Claire Hodges who took the time to help and guide me in the right direction as well as 1 to 1 sessions. I would certainly recommend Somerset Skills and Learning as a provider as they were very kind, supportive and helpful.

Josh and Dave were amazing. I have been wanting to get my maths in order for the longest time and have always struggles with numbers. Josh was very patient with me and was very helpful explaining the course material to the whole class whilst juggling different ability levels. Towards the end of my learning experience I had the pleasure of Dave Roach who helped build my confidence and prepare myself for the test - thank you for pushing me and believing in me when I didn't! I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to develop their skillset further.
