With the appointment of a new head teacher and the school-wide changes he has instigated, the entire school has had a complete turnaround on every measurable level. My kids now love going in; the four horsemen of the apocalypse wouldn't stop them; they absolutely adore Dr Baker! Mark my words, this school will soon set the high bar for excellence across Wigan.

I visited Cansfield High to meet with Dr Geoff Baker and the Chair of Governors. I was really inspired to hear about the journey that the school has been on and the future plans. The children were really engaged in their classes and it is clear that there is exceptional leadership from the Senior Leadership Team, and a team of highly committed and enthusiastic teachers who really care about the children. I came away from the school feeling that every child mattered to every person I spoke to which, for a large school, is a real achievement.

Quite Big, mix in friendliness of students and teachers. Dr Baker and Mark are top blokes who make students lives happier. It is great to watch when Mark, Dr Baker, Mr Swain and Mr Foreshaw go round in costumes throwing sweets to students.

If I had my time again and could choose a high school this is where I would want to go! A school to feel safe at, and where the staff are so passionate about all of their pupils and both support and celebrate them. Such a warm and welcoming school from both staff and pupils.

This is an excellent school, which has been completely turned around since the new Headteacher started. My two children have been amazed at the transformation - I would definitely recommend this school!
